'Sorry, but that is not an alibi for Jeff. It is an explanation of failure. The NBA has many spoiled millionaires. If a Head Coach is too mild mannered to deal with them, it makes him a career Assistant.
Having watched Hornacek his whole NBA career, I really had doubts when the Suns made him the guy at the top on the court. I made reference to Cotton saying he reminded him of his paper boy, when he was a player. I'm not saying that Jeff is immature emotionally, just in lack of management strength.
In a hierarchy, employees tend to rise to their level of incompetence. You promote them until they reach the position that is over their head.
Such has been the case with Jeff Hornacek. For his own good, and the good of the team he's with, he needs to go back to the Jazz as an Assistant. He does not have the persona to be the leader.
