Not sure how I missed this.

The hype that NY gives players is so ridiculous. Imagine if Booker played in NY. Scratch that, I never want to think about that.

Durant takes the GW with 3 guys wide open and Jerebko tips it in at the horn.

He is so talented but sometimes he does some really stupid things with the ball. I can't tell if it's ego, stupidity or laziness. He did a similar thing a minute or two earlier but on that one he just dribbled the ball for most of the clock and then settled for a fallaway 20 footer without ever looking for a teammate.

Utah looked really good. It will be interesting to see if they become the team to challenge the Warriors this year.

Yeah because the 11 fouls and 17 FT's Utah shot in the first quarter had to be equalled out by letting the Warriors shoot 18 FT's in the entire game.

The Warriors had more OFFENSIVE fouls in the first quarter than the Jazz had total fouls, I was actually surprised Kerr and Durant didn't get T's they were both going nuts about some of the calls.

Even the end of the game, Gobert shoved Jerebko, if that tip doesn't go in they didn't call the foul and the Warriors lose. I think the shove actually helped Jerebko get in better position to tip it though.

I really like the way Utah plays, all spread out drive you off the bounce or kick for 3's.

Don't act like the Warriors didn't deserve those calls. They're more than likely the main reason the league is calling moving screens more often. Almost all of the screens Green sets for Curry are moving and fouls. They used to play a bit more controlled but with success they've now come to expect calls or non-calls. I know you are a Warriors fan but try to look at it objectively, they're guilty of many things they're accused of.

The Warriors did deserve a lot of those calls but Utah should have had a lot more calls against them too.

Didn't Payton post a triple double in his first Suns game? This is nothing new. If he's playing well 10 games into the season then it's worth mentioning but we know he can hold it together for a minute.

I think Gentry might be better coach for him than who he's played for before. I think Gentry's temperament is right to handle someone as mentally fragile as Payton. Gentry has always come across as a father type figure to me and I've heard players echo that sentiment as well. When it's working it works well but when teams start struggling he has a hard time getting them back. Perhaps it's Gentry's style that's his helping, maybe not. Payton is good at making a first impressions, he that in Phoenix. If he falls off like he did here though he'll have a lot longer to deal with the fallout than he had here and I suspect life won't be easy for him there. Until he has good games in late November or December though it's a non-story, IMO.

He's a tease that's how his whole career has gone. It's what he does

Payton is also not handling the ball. The Pelicans are playing with (gasp!) 2 and even point 3 guards at a time.

Mirotic was sooooooooooo underrated, the Bulls choosing Portis over him was criminally stupid. He and Davis are going to brutalize teams. Pelicans are going to win 50+ games, they didn't find their stride last year until the criminally overrated Cousins got injured.

Also, that center for Atlanta who doesn't really do anything and gets lost constantly on defense and has to be so specifically instructed where to go for a screen that it ruins any effect of the screen... he looks a lot like Alex Len

The key with them is who was on the floor at the time. Sometimes they will have lineups on the floor with Looney, and others where KD is the only scorer playing. I keep yelling at the opposing teams on the TV, double KD, he's the only one who can make his own shot on the floor now! They never listen.

They had 11 fouls in the first quarter and 12 the rest of the game. Curry and IIRC Thompson both had 2 fouls in the first quarter, and none the rest of the game. Green had 2 in the first quarter. Quinn Cook had 2 in the first quarter one on a play where Crowder came up and set a pick and then as Cook tried to get over the screen Crowder continued to turn and they called the foul on Cook. When they showed the replay the entire Warrior bench was pointing up at the replay as Kerr said how in hell is that a defensive foul.

They eventually called a blatantly obvious makeup call that gave Durant 2 FT's and got the Utah bench up and for the rest of the game the calls were basically even.

Both teams played the same way for 4 quarters, it was only the 1st quarter where the Warriors somehow couldn't stop fouling.

it's not fair to say that when someone's hair is not right, their head may not be right, but when it's an abomination, you can't help but wonder.

l'm happy he's starting fresh somewhere else with new hair and a new team, but i don't doubt he's got the same head on his shoulders

Mirotic is one of the guys I've been thinking about for next years FA targets. I know PG is the priority but I think ending up with a solid vet PG and a guy like Mirotic will move the needle more than trying to land a "star" PG.

As a side note I know there were a lot of people fantasizing about getting another top five pick around draft time to get either Trae Young or Doncic and initially I was in the Young camp but as the draft got closer I really was hoping for some way to pair Ayton with JJJ. I'd still throw 2 unprotected firsts and any 2 players not named Ayton or Booker to land him.

I would have been surprised if he didn't play better without the hair hat. I was also happy to be backed up by the ESPN former players about the negative effect a hair hat would have on one's game.

Not surprising. We had a great cache of back up pg's. What we needed was a starter.
