So Skelton and Bartel are splitting reps in practice (according to Urban and Somers). Shouldn't Skelton be getting the large majority? Unless Whis really doesn't want to "give" Skelton the starting job... Whis is a dope.

Amazing the speed the Whizzers abandoned the thread when facts show up. DG got that while rebuilding after inheriting a roster devoid of talent (save Q). Had been allowed to continue we would have won many division titles with more than 9-7 records. He did elsewhere and would have here except for ownership and his Monday night tirade. No way they were getting out of the way of hais ego. But at least he had the eye for talent to back it up.
Who abandoned what?

No way. Bartel should be getting pretty close to equal reps considering he will likely be the #2 and is brand new to the system. They have to get him as ready as posiible.

Or maybe he wants the new guy to know how to run some plays in case he needs to be in. A real dope.

Why should we counter argue when the points speak for itself. Dude, you really are splitting hairs here to the point where objectivity has long left your vernacular.

DG had 3 years to turn the team around. He went from 6 wins to 5 wins to 5. No accolades to report. Fired as HC

Whis took the team to 8 wins to 9 wins to 10 wins. 2 division 'ships1 conference 'ship. Re-signed to a 4 year deal. Only coach in Phoenix/Arizona Cardinals history to receive an extention.

Whose trend is better?

Rats weren't you the guy championing Josh McCown?

Whisenhunt could have done literally anything this season and I would have said he deserves next year. You can't just be so change with the wind and expect to be a goot team over the long haul. Longevity and consistency are the end game but different coaches that have become great, took different paths to get there.

I thought Wiz was a great coach the past three years and I think this year was a complete overhaul. He won with Dennys players and now he is changing the team in his image and with his players. He deserves more then one season to complete the job.

Has he made some mistakes? Yes. Does he likely not have enough push back by anyone in the FO, causing him to make mistakes personnel wise? It is sure looking that way.

A good coach makes mistakes, but then takes steps to correct those. I expect a complete overhaul in Arizona this offseason from the quarterback position to the coordinators (hopefully Grimm is swiped by Carolina and we use that money elesewhere on coordinators) to likely some surprise cuts.

If not then I'll reevaluate my faith in him.

I happen to think 3 years of what seemed like good decisions for the most part outweighs one year of mistake after mistake compiling. And I still think had he made a better decision under center, then the defense, and DRC, and the run game, and all those issues would have been less glaring mistakes.

The people who want to fire Wiz now, never really bought into him in the first place because I can't imagine people are so reactionary they flip that quick, and fail to realize how important stability is in the NFL.

I have always been a believer. And one bad year isn't going to make me change that.

But he better get the Quarterback right this offseason, or he might not have that two more years that TJ and Shane said he does earlier in this thread.

Which one inherited an NFL roster and which one started at sqaure one with nothing. You see Whiz having built something and I see him taking a Breakout talented roster and only getting a 9-7 record out of them. DG needed more time to finish what was started.

We are most liekly going to have one of the 3 high profile rookie QB's flinging it around on the AZ turf next year. With the way most rookie QB's take to develop usually a season or two that alone gets him two more year IMO. He must show some improvement on the D side however for that to ring true.

So in his first year, DG won six games with someone else's roster? Then in his final year, he won 5 with his own?

Great job.

Sorry if I like the coach who has made great wholesale changes for this franchise making us relevant for once. The positives FAR outweigh the negatives. You and the other haters just dont get it nor want to even consider this. Would you like Denny Green back? How about Dave McGinnis? And if you want Whis gone, who do you want as a replacement, because Gruden and Cowher arent calling their agents telling them to aggressively pursue the non-vacant Cards' position.

As for both sides of the ball. Whis is an OC by trade and having him call the plays does not bother me the least bit. If he wants to wear that hat, by all means go for it. For defense, he delegates the entire responsibility to the DC as most coaches do, i.e. Rex Ryan giving the OC reigns to B. Schottenheimer. I've been around many coaches who do this. The last team I worked with had the HC making all of the offensive calls and entrusted the entire defensive side of the ball to another coach.

****ing people need to realize that the offensive play calling is not the problem. It's the execution of the plays. When you have DA and a crappy o-line, there isnt much you can do. This recruiting does fall on Whis but in the past, he's done a good job at it, so I think for now he is absolved. The only laurel Ill extend is that if the losing becomes pathological next season, then the knob on the stove needs to be turned on.

In addition to which, people need to stop hanging on every word the man says. Ive never seen so many threads dedicated to press conferences, interviews and word of mouth speech. Attempted mind reading is only going to cause you further anxiety, paranoia and stress.

Ive been on Cards message boards (official site, ASFN, etc.) since 2003 and Ive never seen worse sophomoric analysis of the team and its personnel in my life. There is a good chance Whisenhunt will be here for at least two more years. Get over yourselves.

Beautiful TJ:thumbup:

Rosters need time to come together. Bidwills never allowed this to happen. DG needed to much control. Bidwills like there yes man in Graves. Weren't getting rid of him then. AZ finest said it Whiz won with DG guys after they had played together for awhile. I am saying we did not need a full blown rebuild this year. We traded this years Division title for it. Whis will now get his shot to rebuild. Hope it works out. I have said I will eat crow. I have yet to see any of Whiz supporters say they will. But they will.

Yeah oboy, got alot of mileage out of it. We are still seen as the armpit of the NFL.

Considering that most polls that I have seen had us as the NFL's 12th most popular team and had us in the top 15 in merchandise sales. I would say you are very much mistaken.

I see what you're saying, but splitting first team reps when your rookie has had little to no work with the first team? Also Whis is still a dope.

Yeah, I hear ya' but considering that we lost two QBs in less than 5 minutes last week it's hard to say what the right combo is.

not true.

Totally true and even more so after this season and our Monday Night flame out. Everyone said same old cards. I like that we went to a SB. I just don't see us getting back there with Whiz's guys.
