Stout
Hold onto the ball, Murray!
The first two were waaaay overrated, and Dunst is meh.
Absolutely what I think. I tried and failed to make it through Spidey 2 on two separate occasions. The first two were waaaay overrated, and Dunst is meh.
I think he would have been good when the franchise started, but like McGuire, he's getting too old. JMHO.Jake Gyllenhall (sp?)
I got no one.
I dont see how SM4 could work without Tobey McGuire. How do you replace him with someone of similar age, as if no one would notice? How do you replace him with a younger actor and have to reintroduce all the origin from the first film?
I just dont get it.
Also, it would have been nice for them to run the whole Gwen Stacy storyline in SM2.
So, lemme get this straight. You guys are willing to suspend disbelief in a man that gets the powers of a spider and fights crime in tights, but not that it could be anyone else except Toby McGuire?
Hooooookaaaaaayyy.....
It wasn't awesome in the comics, so I'm willing to bet it wouldn't have been awesome on the screen. I hated that storyline because it really F'd with Gwen Stacey post-mortem.Tell me this wouldnt have been awesome...
Alright. I'll have a pitch for you by the end of the week. I'll give you a hint: it'll involve the Lizard, I think.LOL! That's awesome.
OK, smart guy, using your infinite knowledge and presidential authority, map out how the fourth movie should go down.

This is true. As it is, MJ in the movies is a mix of GS and MJ from the comics. That's my biggest complaint about the films (though I liked them both a lot). Also, it would have been nice for them to run the whole Gwen Stacy storyline in SM2.
Okay, so it came quicker than I thought it would.OK, smart guy, using your infinite knowledge and presidential authority, map out how the fourth movie should go down.

It's loosely based on an old comic book storyline:
A new media-***** is on the scene in New York: Kraven the Hunter. He bags big, dangerous game all over the globe, and makes his fortune (and his fame) by documenting it and showing the hunts to the world. He’s got a lot of toys as to make him an interesting visual character on the screen.
When Kraven shows up in NY, it’s on the heels of a string of bad PR for our hero—much of it a result of bad luck, but it’s made worse by J Jonah Jameson. It gives Kraven the public support for his announcement-- he’s hunting the biggest game of all: Spider-Man.
Spider-Man doesn’t think too much of it, assuming that Kraven is closer to Steve Irwin than the “character” he portrays in his hunts. He finds out he’s wrong—Kraven sets up some elaborate traps that SM barely manages to escape.
At the same time, Doc Connors is working on genetic experiments to fuse lizard and amphibian genomes with that of a human’s so that people might one day be able to re-grow limbs just as a lizard does. He gets ahead of himself, and in an effort to grow back his own arm he uses himself as a guinea pig. Predictably, it goes poorly and he becomes the Lizard…and the new object of Kraven’s hunt.
The Lizard is a super-strong and fast creature, but mindless. He’s tearing the city apart.
Spidey knows the Lizard is actually his friend Doc Connors, so he wants to help him and thinks he can reverse the process—so he’s trying to apprehend him without hurting him. Kraven is trying to kill him, and wouldn’t mind bagging SM in the process.
So, the climactic battle is between SM, Kraven and the Lizard—each of the characters wants different outcomes making for one helluva dilemma for Spidey.
