the Ayton walk scenario is not happening

the "internal matter' would have to be sooo beyond what the Lakers must live with Westbrook, the Nets must live with Kyrie and Ben Simmons. And it's not at all.

just a family squabble.

come training camp everyone, including Ayton will be talking team unity again and doing ridiculous handshakes, again

add that to my Book-It list
Maybe, but it will be BS for media consumption.

Ayton is not agreeing to an offer sheet if he is not determined to leave IMO.

If they let him go for nothing.... that would be terrible mismanagement. IMO He is only 4 years into his career. He does not suck. For all the **** he takes around here, he is a good center. Around 4 to 7 in most rankings. If there is something so bad about him that they don't want him at that price.... What is it? It is a fair, free market contract IMO.

The question has been answered by the Pacers. Ayton is worth the max.

I think letting Ayton walk for nothing would be mismanagement.

No partner no opportunity. If the Pacers were the only team interests they obviously didn’t want to do it. They were calling their bet with the Suns thinking they could get him straight up.

Here is the tweet. The Suns have a brief window to do a sign-and-trade.

Guessing that is when the Pacers moves to cut cap space become official.

The Pacers have already done it. I'm not sure when it becomes official. You may be right.

Wow. This is basically saying we will not let Indian have Ayton for this price. We will hold onto him and trade home Jan15.

Holy Crap! If true the org is saying….We still don’t want you as well Ayton.

That’s not what that tweet means at all

It absolutely does is he Suns plan on trading him. We just don’t know that part yet. If the Suns have every intention of trading him, they are still saying they don’t want him. Time will tell.

This has been the issue all along. I listened to an interview with Jones last fall in which he hinted that the Suns were willing to give Atyon a 4 year max. I think this has been their number all along, and it seems to be DA's market value. Other teams will pay him a 4-year max, but they are unwilling to give up other assets as well.

Match it. Move on.

The offer sheet kills a sign and trade. Next window would be Jan 15th. Even then Ayton now gets some leverage back as he has to approve of any trade.

This could get ugly.
Notice the wording. He has agreed to it--as in he has not yet signed it yet. It is only when he physically signs the contract that the sign and trade is dead. However, according to Woj, the Suns aren't really even negotiating for a sign and trade.

The Suns have 48 hours to match a signed offer sheet.

No it’s been determined that only the Pacers think he is worth the max. All of the other teams ate up their cap space when they had it available to give to Ayton or passed. That doesn’t mean his value across the league was what Indiana thought it was. The Suns motivation would be to not let him walk for nothing.

I am sayin I don’t see the Pacers doing the Suns any favors. They want to sign him straight up and call the Suns on not letting him walk. The Suns are on the clock so the Pacers would likely use them to get the Suns to come down on what they are demanding. The Suns on the other hand could be telling them we are definitely matching so up your offer.

Seems like a game of chicken.

that is not true. Doesn't matter anyway. Suns signed Gordon to an offer sheet and Gordon asked the Pels not to match, and they still did, and he is still playing out that deal. With inflation, this offer sheet won't seem that large soon.

Can you read? I never disputed the facts. I gave a hypothetical that if the Suns are still determined to trade him Jan 15th what kind of message that sends.

Who cares what kind of message that sends? Do what is best for this team. Manage the caps and assets to the Suns best advantage. DA has not earned the Devin Booker treatment.

I can read I don’t know why you keep running to that

Oh now your saying it as a hypothetical situation…got

Cause to me it seemed you quoted the tweet and said something like wow the suns still don’t want Ayton or something like that

Then another poster told you that’s not what it meant then I told you that’s not what it meant.

But hey it’s just a big misunderstanding

You should. We have seen what happens when a player is playing for team that doesn’t want to be there play out many times. Naturally the Suns should do what is best for the Suns but sometimes that is getting rid of player.
