Tom Hardy just did one Nolan film, so I'm not surprised. Hathaway is yummy.

I was excited to hear about Catwoman but Bane??? Bane sucks.

How did you like Knightfall? I didn't think Bane was one dimensional in that. Of course that didn't stop Schumacher from taking Bane, chewing him up, crapping him out, eating the feces, and re-crapping them out.

I know many comic book fans and most of ones I know don't like Bane. The others that I know that are OK with him don't think of him as a favorite out of all the villains.

Bane was good for Knightfall but thats about it. People liked him then but the problem is they kept trying to bring him back and add complexity to his character but it didn't really work. As a comic villain, he wasn't very good minus the one storyline but he could be good as a movie villain.

I would've loved to seen what Nolan could have done with some of the other realistic Batman villains (ie Riddler, Penguin, Hush, Zsasz) but its highly unlikely that he's making another one. Ah well.

At the very least, he's sending us a parting gift with Anne Hathaway in the Catsuit. :D

Hells yeah!

So, how is life as a blind man?

Note to Hollywood:

If you want to make a film that I would never spend any money on, download, or make even the slightest effort to view, just make another "Tango & Cash" and star Anne Hathaway as the female lead.

It could be called "Tango & Cash 2: Pure Suckage".

I'm not 100% behind what the dude has to say here, but I do agree with most of it.

If you want to skip straight to what CM has to say directly about Batman Rises, go to the 4:20 mark.

Loved Knightfall. Thought the Sword of Azreal was a tool.

That's because Bruce should have never given him the mantel. He should have just handed things over to Dick as either Batman or Nightwing. Azreal had issues to begin with as he had a hard time understanding Bruce's moral standards. He wasn't a bad crime fighter but Batman doesn't kill and Azreal killed.

As for realistic Batman villains, aside from the one's mentioned, Black Mask could be carried off. The Ventriloquist, Firefly, Calender Man, Great White Shark, could all be pulled off rather easily. As for Anne Hathaway as Catwoman, I like her but not in this role. Talia, maybe but not Selina. Believe it or not Angelina Jolie would make a great Selina/Catwoman.

would love to see levitt in this as well, but i'm starting to get leery that if he's a villain as well, we might be looking at a Spidey 3 clusterbum of too many villains.

I like the Azrael idea, but since Nolan said this will be his last Batman film, I wonder if they'll do much in the way of a cliffhanger.

Adding Azreal into the story doesn't necessarily mean it's a cliffhanger. They could tell that story in two hours, IMO (without a the broken back--it'd have to be a less-sever debilitating injury).

But that aside, how much control do studios usually have in the story in franchises like this? Could they tell him to leave it open to another one that build upon Nolan's work?

not with the power Nolan has right now. He finishes this sucker his way or he wouldn't do it.

then, they'll probably reboot the entire thing again, much like they did with Spiderman.

Good, then maybe the remaining three people on the planet who've never heard of batman will know the origin story and we won't have to do it again.

I don't know... Nolan certainly has all the power over this franchise, but I know he's very appreciative of Warner Bros. and the kind of freedom they give him--Inception is a perfect example of that. If the powers-that-be request that there be a little cliffhanger that doesn't interfere with his story, I'm not so sure he wouldn't consider it.

i would be stunned if he doesn't end this exactly the way he wants it.

The last interview I read with Nolan is that he planned on giving Batman fans some sort of full circle closure to the character. That doesn't sound like any kind of possibility to cliff hanger ending. I bet it ends up being a reboot if they continue.

The last thing I want to see is another lead and another director continue and completely tarnish this continuity of this version of Batman. I feel like these should always stand alone.
