man... after seeing the teaser, me thinks Nolan might have made a HUGE misstep in making Bane the big bad in this ending to the trilogy. I mean, I saw this teaser with a HUGE fanboy audience in LA today for Harry Potter and there's wasn't a peep after this trailer... just a silent WTF permeating throughout the theater... NOTHING like the teaser trailer for TDK with Alfred's stirring words about "some men just want to see the world burn" followed up by the Joker's "I'm a man of my word" and Ledger's hysterically scary laughing. I mean, people burst into applause when I saw that 5 years ago and there wasn't even any visual to go along with it!
now, I'm sure Nolan will still make a very good movie and close out the trilogy strong, but me thinks he was SERIOUSLY hamstrung by Ledger's death as there's no doubt in my mind that Nolan probably watched him attack that role and figured he (along with others in the rogue gallery... probably Bane and Catwoman) would give Batman everything he could take in the finale.
I just think a finale without one of the true BIG BIG bads (Joker, Riddler, Penguin) is just gonna leave people a little flat. I know that's what the trailer did for me... and that was after the teaser poster practically made me **** in my pants.
