I have a bad feeling that the NBA is going to suspend Amare and Diaw after listening to D'Antoni after the game. I say they take out Duncan or Parker if they lose Amare.

THEY WILL SUSPEND THEM. Not because it would be right but because if they don't, they won't be able to enforce the rule for the rest of the playoffs. The Rule is specific. If you leave the bench area your suspended. Amare and Diaw did...they are done for game 5.

And apparently you work for the NBA because sounds like we already have our definite ruling after reading this post.

I have the same feeling.

If that happens, however, I would like our bench to take out Duncan, break his teeth or eye socket...

Okay, i've seen a couple comments like this over the flurry of posts since the game so don't feel like I'm singling you out. But all I have to say is... stop. Seriously.

It embarasses me as a Suns fan that others are thinking like this. I want the suns to win as much as the next guy here but I will not stand to be reduced to thuggery. Play the damn game!

When Amare came off the bench the first thing he did was put his arms out and hold people back. I doubt he gets suspended.

What is the logic of Horry crossing the line and we lose 2 players???

Wont happen.

I think the Suns will benefit from the location where the hit took place. Since Nash was on the sideline near the scorers table, and it was a dead ball situation after a foul, it makes perfect sense that Amare and Boris were going to check in, not assist in a scuffle. Had this happened at the top of the key, for instance, there would be no doubt about this penalty. were they going to the scorers table to check in, or to help Nash? Prove it.

I think the league will be looking for an "out" in a situation like this, where a thug move could benefit his own team. If they want the out, I think they have it.

How is it that Bowen does not even get fined but Amare could get suspended. A new law must be enforced. I think Wednesday's game could get very ugly if Amare is not allowed to play.

You must not have been paying attention to the Suns' curses throughout the years.

Suspension?

The rule states:

Any player who leaves the bench during a fight automatically suspended for a minimum of one game and fined a maximum of $20,000; in addition to losing 1/82nd of his salary for each game, he is suspended.

The key here is does the league consider what happened a fight? What is the definition of a fight? The thing is CB left the bench in 94 after a shoving match and that was no more a fight yet he got suspended. Amare and Diaw came WAY off the bench.

Lol, looks like Amare really wants to play in game 5. He says he was checking in.

I totally agree but the league can use the excuse that Amare was checking in and they other teams could never complain about how the suns got extra treatment. Also remember the league deff. wants this series to go 7 if possible so Suns winning game 5 goes a long way for that.

Didn't happen that way. Diaw and Amare walked over the line and Ivaroni pulled them both back. A little too late now. Bye Amare. :bang: :pullhair:

I'm hoping they won't suspend the players, but this is a rule that has ALWAYS been letter of the law.

Of course this incident probably causes the greatest swing of power if it is enforced...

I'm sure that the league is worried about the precedent of letting Amare/Diaw play will set. Not just for the rest of the playoffs, but from now on they will have to more open minded on these decisions.

If Stoudemire and Diaw are suspended, If I'm coach Dantoni I send "goons" in the game for nothing more than give flagrant 2 fouls to Spur players while Duncan, Ginobili or Parker are on the bench. Do it in front of the Spurs bench. Do it hard. Make em' bleed.

Sure, the goon is gone - but who cares? Hopefully you can draw Duncan/Parker or Ginobili off the bench and gone for a game. It's sad but true.

You do the math.

I would love to believe it but it ain't gonna fly. Diaw was standing and Amare was sitting when this happenned and they came rushing after the fact. If the league wants to look the other way using whatever logic, I all for it. Let's just hope we don't get punished for something so trivial.

I just don't know how a scrub like Horry can knock Nash into the scoring table and elbow Raja and possibly cause the Suns to lose two starters. This would be proof certain that dirty deeds pays and the ends justify the means.

The league needs to look at the circumstances because the Spurs should not be rewarded for dirty play.
