I will take that crucial, crucial point. The other results absolutely hated Newcastle, but we've managed to put Sunderland below us in the table. I'll be quite the Stoke fan very soon!

Ugh. Not safe yet. We REALLY need to beat QPR next week. If we do that, we're safe for sure. If not...even a draw gives us no sureties. Ugh.

The nice thing is that Villa and Wigan play on the last day.

That's not a nice thing at all in my eyes. Great if you can be ahead of them both but for my money Villa will be safe and on the beach, Wigan at home and picking up another 3 points. Noooooooo good at all this mate.

Is this the thread to discuss Bradford City getting to Wembley for second time this year?

??? I get that you're trying to be a smart ass, but you're just sad and confusing. What are you trying to get at here?

Nothing. Not trying to be anything. I am really not. Just following Bradford trying to get from league 2 to league 1. So far they made it to Wembley once this year for a cup finals, and now they have a chance at promotion after finishing 6th I believe.

The judges would have accepted 1) ignoring me, 2) "No" and 3) "Who?"

Nevermind.

I assumed you were trying to start an argument posting it in the Newcastle thread, of course.

Bradford, eh? All luck to them, I suppose.

Woo hoo Bradford!

League 1 here they come. I know Bradford, Wolves and no one else in league 1.

Oh ya, congrats on finishing above those 4 clubs. :). Just kidding of course.

Perfectly matching plays, with Ivanovich getting yellow and Taylor getting red. I had no problem with the red at the time, but seeing as though there isn't any consistency between the smaller clubs and the big dogs, well, now I'm angry about it.

Edit: Then Ivanivich with a high boot not five minutes later--and no second yellow. No, no bias in this league AT ALL.

Villa was soooooo cheated. The man who should have been given a straight red scores minutes later, and was offside to boot. He doesn't get another yellow minutes later with a high boot. Villa doesn't get a clear penalty in injury time. Man, Chelsea was given super, super preferential treatment in this match.

Excellent win today. We came out all guns blazing and would have scored our opener against anyone. We fell asleep and let them come back, but immediately took the lead again and completely stymied their attack--even when Villa had four strikers on the pitch.

Hey, 7 points from 4 games ain't bad, especially after our shellacking in the opener. We get Hull at home next week too. Better than 1 point out of 4 games ;)

Just sack Pardew already. Why in the hell do we come out with a defensive lineup, take a hugely deep, defensive position, and refuse to press, when we are a completely OFFENSIVE-MINDED team? It boggles the mind. The coach gave the Mags no chance--no chance--in the first half. He reverts to the players and tactics he should have started the game with, and the team roars back. DUH!

Pardew doesn't get it, he just doesn't get it! Okay, he puts Cabaye back in the starting lineup--only a moron would have sat him last week anyway--and leaves Williamson in because Mbiwa has been crap. Fine. Unfortunately, Santon was absolutely abused in defense last week--embarrassingly so--and we have a hot young up-and-comer at the position in Dummet. So of course Santon's in the lineup and Dummet isn't. MORON! This is why you will get sacked, Pardew.

Well, the Mags held on, but they dominated after a really stupid conceded goal early in the 2nd. Who was the idiot completely out of position trying to make a stupid tackle? You guessed it--Santon. Pardew, you idiot, get your head out of your arse!

Well, my hatred for the bush-league Suarez is cemented now. I didn't realize a hand on your shoulder affects you the same way a spear through the gut would. That little pansy went down like he was shot, screaming and flailing, clearly simulating, and Mariner ate it up. We bossed this game all through the half, and one cheater's moment has tied it up and put us down to 10 men.

I always knew Suarez was a punk, but now I hate him in earnest.

Up yours, Suarez, and up yours too, Mariner. 12-man Liverpool (that's right--ref completely on their side) fail to take down Newcastle. 10-man Newcastle take the lead, which gives them enough of a buffer to hold the ref-backed Liverpool to a 2-2 draw. Some really horrendous calls by the ref, who then gave them an extra minute-and-a-half AFTER injury time at the end of the game, seemingly trying to give Liverpool every chance to get the winner. THEN Mariner gives Liverpool a free kick at the top of the box. Suarez for the winner, surely--until Tim Krul gives the punk Suarez a big FU!

I've no doubt, no doubt in my mind, that Newcastle win this game had they not been robbed and sent down to 10 men. They were all over Liverpool and had the lead. Liverpool, gifted a free penalty and over a half with a man advantage, can't even pull out the win. The cheater Suarez and his mates at least weren't gifted a winner. He even tried a dive late on for a free kick--no yellow for simulation, of course, even though the call went against him. No, can't punish Suarez for cheating now, can we?

Good, solid point for Newcastle against cheating and bad reffing.
