4-1 Fulham and 3-0 Forest over Reading at the moment. As it stands, Newcastle are up if they beat Preston. Plus, the smarmy Stockdale talking about Newcastle bottling it lets in two own goals to single-handedly keep Newcastle in the title race :)

Fulham is now 3 points ahead of Leeds for the final playoff spot. If they win against their neighbors Brentford next Saturday they are in.

Newcastle with the early 1-0 lead. Just where they want to be...wait. Lucky it's not 1-1 already.

Edit 1-1 already.

Trues but still 6 points left and if Fulham loses both games points differential will not matter. Have my fingers crossed!!!

Don't see you dropping that many points in 2 games. You just crushed Huddersfield.

How about...you KNOW you'll win the playoffs, but have to sell Newcastle Cairney? I think that's more than fair :D

PHEW!!!!!

That's promotion done and dusted. A bit nervy after scoring that first goal, but the goal before the half changed the tide. Crushed PNE 4-1, and still not out of it for the title. I LOVE the BHA keeper talked trash on us about bottling it, then gave up 2 own goals to bottle it and keep us alive for the title. Nothing for Newcastle to lose now, and Brighton's looking over their shoulders.

It'll be survival first in everything we do, preparing for next season. After that's secure, we can think of banging on. It's too bad Sunderland and Middlesborough aren't staying up. Would have loved having 3 northeast teams in the Premier League.

Yeah it was a shaky first half. reminded me of some of their other games. they seem to struggle at times in the first half even when they score early. but for me if I'm a preston supporter I would be very disappointed with Johnson's effort. I know they had a man sent off. but Johnson missed a walk in goal, and basically gave up when he turned the ball over on Newcastle's counter attack. he did not even run after it and he was not sprinting beforehand. I agree with you that moment was the difference in the match. The supporters woke up after that and the floodgates opened.

If the Whites do win the playoff unless the price is very high I do not think Cairney is going anywhere. Heard Newcastle want to spend 10million pounds for him. To low. Add another 5-6 million to it and then if I am Fulham I am listening. All bets are off if Fulham is not promoted. Segusson is the 16 yr old wonder kid. The big clubs are all sniffing around for him.

Yeah, it's not Newcastle saying 10 mill. That's definitely not going to be enough. And yes, unfortunately, Newcastle kind of need Fulham to stay down to have a shot at Cairney.

That other kid's good too. He tormented the Mags in their 3-1 loss.

Congrats on the promotion.

Thanks much :)

Good win tonight. Even got Sterry some game time. Incredible free kick by Atsu, and a cracker from Hayden to seal the deal. The heat is on Brighton. A draw won't do it for them. TWO draws won't do it for them. They need to win a game, or the championship is in Newcastle's hands.

Sunderland's down. I can't deny that I laughed my ass off at game's end, but still, I'm disappointed. No derby match next season for Newcastle. And Sunderland's going to have a really tough time of bouncing back up at the first time of asking.

Oh well. I guess Middlesbrough still have a shot of staying up and providing a Premiership derby in the northeast. A slim shot, but a shot nonetheless.

Brilliant. I wonder why more players don't take their time and place free kicks.

Funny thing is the commentator said beforehand that he can't get it over the wall. Foot was in mouth.

Oh baby, Brighton bottled it again. Newcastle doesn't even have to win their last match, if Brighton lose again; a draw would do because of GD! Their keeper running his mouth about us bottling it seems to have jinxed them :D

I think because it takes a hell of a lot of nerve to try it. If you do that and hit the wall or just sky it over the goal, you'll get a lot of flak. Yohan Cabaye was so good at that for Newcastle too, when he was there.

Haha, yeah, talked about how hard it is.

Question for you lot: Is Atsu worth 6.5 million? Newcastle has an auto-buy clause they can exercise if they want, but have to do it within a week of the end of their season. I say yes, because we have Ritchie, and a returning-but-crystal-Rolando Aarons at winger. After that, it's a bunch of kids that haven't played in the first team. I'd bring him back for at least depth in the Premier League. Thoughts?

He's been one of their best performers of late. I would say yes to keep him. It will be a long season and I would imagine they will want to be more competitive in the FA cup next season. I am interested to see how much they will spend or if they can attract a player or two.

Unless an epic meltdown happens and Fulham should lose to Wednesday by 11-0 and Leeds win their game 5-0 Fulham are in the playoffs to go to the premier league next season. If they would have converted damn penalty shots. I think 8 missed this yearand either lost or drew those games. They would be right up there near the top 2.

Yeah, I saw that. Man, did Leeds crap the bed! I'm so torn because I'd love to see Fulham in the Premiership, but Cairney's probably Newcastle's top target.

Do you know when the playoffs start? I can only find the date for the final game.

It stinks that none of the games on the last date of the season will be televised over here. Newcastle have a solid chance at the title still.

Hahahahahahaha! Yeah, Brighton & Hove Albion, you won the title because you learned how not to 'bottle' it. Wait, DID you learn how not to bottle it? Because it turns out you DIDN'T win the title, that you bottled it and NEWCASTLE won instead.

OMFG, it's even worse for BHA. Aston Villa was down to 10 men, and got the equalizer in the 89th minute! Even worse, the famous 'we learned not to bottle it' keeper--who gave up two own goals to lose the next game--let the long-distance goal just trickle in under him to 100 percent bottle the game and the title. Brilliant, absolutely brilliant :D

Most excellent. Now, on to the summer transfer market and the Premiership.

Congrats on New Castle winning the Championship. Hope you have success in the Premier League next year.

Fulham starts the playoffs against Reading this Saturday at home. Hoping they join the Magpies in the EPL.
