Massive start. 1-0 before five minutes are up :D

Edit: And then the nightmare begins :( Forced to make 10 changes, because of how poor our squad is, and our defense is a shambles. 2-1 Forest :(

Edit: Howay Rolando Aarons!!!

Whew! In Rafa We Trust! Two teams in crisis, and Newcastle come out calm, organized, and confident. West Ham was quite the opposite. Compact defensively, happy to play on the counter, and make the other team pay for it, is how Newcastle will succeed this season. Had only 37% possession, and West Ham did nothing with the ball.

Great win. Out of the drop zone, evened goal differential, and have only given up 3 goals in 3 games, including having played Tottenham with 10 men and 2 defensive subs for half the game. Panic over.

Now Ashley needs to back the team in this last week. He cannot look at this win and assume the squad is fine. No way--though he probably will lol

Whoa a bit surprised by the score. But this is a great result for Newcastle against a side that was supposed to be better than they are. If they win these matches at home against these types of teams they have a shot to stay.

If Rafa stays, we'll stay up. He keeps us too well organized.

I joked with my Arsenal buddy that they'd better not lose to Liverfool today, or Arsenal would be below Newcastle in the table :D

Well does not look good for Arsenal early on. Sky broadcast is roasting the Arsenal midfield. They Caught Ramsey standing not even watching the play of the ball on Liverpools build up to their goal.

And now 2-0 on a beauty of a goal by mane!

Big win there, and one desperately needed. Rafa out from a surgical complication, away where we don't really win, and Newcastle nick all three points. Excellent. 2 wins and 2 losses, with one loss having only one quality shot given up, and the other game holding one of the best teams in the league to jack squat until Shelvey saw red even with all those defensive injuries. Got two of those injured players back today too. Looking bright!

It was a big 3 points against a team away that most people would think would be near their level. Swansea are in a rut, but that's a team you have to pick on while they are down. good on Newcastle. was hoping to see yedlin play, but glad he's back in the mix.

Crazy run of wins. Unless Arsenal win by the right amount, Newcastle will be sitting top 4 in the table. Madness. Lovely madness. Granted, it's super early, and the table is pretty worthless right now, but still. It's better than Championship football or fighting for survival.

Good on the magpies. Gonna watch the highlights tonight. Yeah the table is crazy right now. It is early but the start is important. Spurs can't win at wembley. Kind of troublesome since they did not lose at the lane last year. I love seeing Arsenal toward the bottom of the table. And as well getting outshined by cologne supporters at emiriates.

Got to put pressure on you lot by downing Brighton this weekend. Good chance to stay in the top 4 for one more week, at least :)

Should be a good one -- I finally caved and bought NBCSN Gold to watch all of their games.

Well played! Huge game for you lot, and you came out fast and kept up the energy.

Should have been a draw, though. Shelvey elbowed in the throat in the box and knocked to the ground was 100 percent a penalty, not to mention the foul on your goal that went uncalled. Plus that awful stomp should have been a red--and probably will be, retrospectively--but that was in the 88th or 89th minute, so didn't really affect the game.

All in all, Newcastle didn't keep their shape, and BHA did.

Clearly intent on his part for me. He and others were jawing at yedlin throughout the match. It was physical and I'm sure yedlin got under his skin somehow. Idk when there is someone under my feet I usually try not to step on them. That's just me.

Yeah, it was clear. The double standard is sickening in the PL--Shelvey gets crucified, and so many people defended this guy--but whatever. Like I said, 88th minute, so it wouldn't have affected the game.

True. I thought Shelvey was a force off the bench yesterday at holding the midfield. He will be ok if he cleans that up.

Thing is, Mikel Merino has been amazing and, except for later in the 2nd half, Rafa hasn't played them together. No way do you bench Merino, so what does Rafa do? I'd like him to try them both, with Shelvey as the #10. Perez, save for one game, has been abysmal there.

We have awesome fans on this board. None of this at each others' throats nonsense. Well, unless you're a Sunderland fan, of course ;) LOL
Haha it's as if they "sunderpuke" as someone once referred...no longer exist.
