It hasn't changed much. It would be easy to slag off Craven Cottage for being small and low on facilities, but the place has charm and character and I love it. One of my favourite away days by far, area around the ground is great too.

It helps that Sunderland have a good record there of course, but hope it how you remember it.

What say the Cards get announced for a Wembley game... You coming over?.... Sunderland away to Fulham on the Saturday, Cards on the Sunday....

If finances allow I would be coming over to watch the Cards play in Wembley. It would be awesome to watch both if my favorite teams play in the same weekend.

Stout,

That was a bogus red card on New Castle's defender. Do believe it was a penalty but not an overt stopping of a scoring chance as the rule says,

My thoughts exactly. I feel as if the ref must have just married into Big Sam's family with the big decisions--or lack of decisions--made. I blame Coloccini for the stupid decision, as Fletcher had no chance at the ball, and then flopped like Greg Luganis after contact. But yes, that's a penalty. No problem. With the way Sunderland was playing--or rather, not playing--I felt confident of getting the result. Yet in no world was Fletcher ever going to get to that ball before Elliot. Idiotic decision.

And, I have to wonder how in the hell Cattermole failed to get a single yellow card in that game. Hell, on his borderline red card foul, they didn't even call a frickin' foul! Inexcusable. Absolutely inexcusable.

Well, as long as the Magpies don't go to pieces mentally, I'm confident they'll get to safety. The first half was one of the most dominating performances I've seen without getting the goal. Sunderland had absolutely nothing, and the Mags were rampant. Oh well. Another derby game, another loss. Have to forget about it going forward.

Man, Jack Butland has to be the man of the match, as he's the sole reason Newcastle didn't thump Stoke by a couple. I'm really loving our attacking play, but we must get better results. Mitrovic is just a beast, and I love his aggressive style, but he can't dive like that. I hate that kind of crap. Gets aggressive, wins the ball, wins the throw, stands firm, and draws a stupid foul. Instead of just accepting that, he rolls on the ground like he's been shot, and earns a well-deserved yellow for simulation along with the opponent's yellow. That reaction reminded me of Diego Costa, and not in a good way.

Fun game, great attacking, but Newcastle faced an insanely in-form keeper. What can you do?

This win against Bournemouth was simply karmic justice. We creamed Stoke but only got the draw because of their keeper; today Bournemouth creamed us, but we got the win because of ours. Out of the relegation zone going into the international break. Good job, Ayoze Perez!

Apparently the rot runs deep in the organization. McClaren can't even get the team to play hard, with energy, any more. Sure, they won at Bournemouth, but played just like they did today. Sadly for the Mags, Leicester isn't Bournemouth, and they had the class to put Newcastle down. Hard. What an utterly pathetic, embarrassing display.

Now THAT is how you play at Newcastle United. You might not be the best or most talented team, but you put in a shift and get a result.

That is one tough crowd to play for. Newcastle's fans were very passionate, often giving their own team a tough time if they made the wrong pass or didn't shoot. It was weird to see, but cool at the same time.

I still hope I can go in March and see a game or two live.

To be fair, at this point, they have soccer PTSD :D Honestly, in years past, they would go crazy and cheer their team in a loss, as long as the team played their hearts out. I think, even if they'd drawn or lost to Liverpool, but showed the same fight, they'd have been cheered off the pitch. The biggest misconception about Geordie fans is that they demand excellence; they merely demand top effort and commitment to the patch.

I'll be jealous if you make it to a game, but I hope you do!

Howay the lads! Went to London and played against a much better team, put a shift in, came from behind, and nabbed a much-deserved victory. Still not top quality, but the Magpies are playing better by the game. Let's keep marching up the table, please.

Saw today Chelsea is in danger of relegation which if that happens would make my year. Only thing better would be if the Cardinals won the Super Bowl.

No chance that happens. They will dump Mourinho before too long if they stay near the bottom of the table. They have to. Comparing winning the title and being relagated, going down is much worse than winning it all. To a big club like Chelsea.

I know it is a longshot they are relegated. Just wishful thinking. As a Fulham fan I cannot stand Chelsea. We affentionately call them Chelscum.

Man, yeah, Chelsea going down would be great. About as much chance as Leicester City winning the title, though--and I'd love that even more.

A disappointing result. With the start Newcastle had, and the lead, and the opponent, they should have pushed on and won. But it was a low-profile game, the lazy players felt they'd already put a shift in, a shut it down. From the minute we scored until late in the 2nd half, Villa was rampant.

I guess I should take away one positive: usually, when Newcastle shut down, they don't turn it back on again. Rather than just hanging on, the players managed to turn it back on and should have bagged the winner. Baby steps, baby steps.

Ugh, what a disappointing end to the game. Newcastle showed grit, determination, and team spirit in this one, and thoroughly deserved the point--and could have gotten a winner. As the announcer said, "This can be a cruel game."

Right, a relegation scrap with a high chance of going down it is :(

That was as blatant of a penalty that you will ever see not called. There is no excuse why the ref and line judge together could not have seen that.

Newcastle in my opinion out played Arsenal but failed to capitalize on golden scoring chances. Seriously could have won that game 2 or 3-1

Unfortunately, it matters exactly 0 percent. We're still mired in the relegation zone, and plenty of other results went against us. We'll be EXTREMELY lucky to survive.

Newcastle crashes out of yet another cup. So shocking lol Bossed the game for large portions, lost 1-0, just like last week. Four consecutive 1-0 losses. Man, we'll be LUCKY not to go down. Still, I guess lack of a cup run (yet again) will give us time and energy to focus on staying up.

Fair play to McClaren for fielding a strong starting lineup, though. A shame it's a pathetic lineup.

Liverpool almost lost to 4th tier Exeter City. It is in the air.
