Not always, in today's NFL. And what receivers do we have that can stretch the field? Oh yeah--we don't have anyone on the roster that does that.

Groovy. I don't hate the pick--he sounds a good player--I just don't think he's got the overall talent for what we should have wanted in the 2nd round.

Golden and Ginn?

...What do you exactly expect from someone that is going to "stretch the field?"

Ginn is absolutely going to do that, and is more than competent to, especially with the talent of Fitz and Floyd.

197 catches, 2,604 yds, 11 TDs in 7 seasons. Less than 2 TDs a season, averages 28 catches for 372 yards a season. How can you POSSIBLY say he's ABSOLUTELY going to do that? He's been a scrub as a WR his entire career. Okay, I could accept 28 catches a season, but 372 yards and less than 2 TDs a season for a speed demon deep threat? He's a return specialist, nothing more. I'm surprised I even have to point out these facts to anyone on this board.

Did you catch any of the Carolina games last year? Ginn is very fast and definitely stretched the field last year. Carolina fans really wanted to keep him for this exact reason.

36 receptions for nearly 600 yards is decent enough as a WR3, especially as a part of a receiving corps that you can easily say was less talented than ours.

No one we were going to pick was going to be a #1 stretch the field type of threat. Until we're replacing Fitz, we're not going to draft/sign anyone with a higher talent level than Ginn when it comes to stretching the field.
