Ghana have done nothing with their possession. Nothing. US happy to sit and counter.
they have had two dangerous crosses on Beasley's side had a chance that should have been a goal in stoppage time. Howard also made a great save bending towards the post.

It seems like every US player is cramping its only 77 degrees with relatively low humidity. These will be the best conditions they play in curious to see what Sunday will look like

You cannot park the bus for 90 minutes. This game falls squarely on JK's shoulders. You put Beckerman in, you tell our team to play deep and only counter, you concede initiative, you will fail. Luck was with us for 80 minutes, but not the full 90. Stupidity personified.

Beckerman has been brilliant. Stop moaning.

Credit where credit's due, after a rough opening to the 2nd half, he's been good. He was terrible in the first half, though. Terrible.

See? You park the bus, it doesn't work. The minute the mindset changed, we started pressing forward. Result? A corner and a goal.

Wow. Double wow. We didn't deserve it. Our coach did us no favors. Bradley, our midfield wizard, would be dropped after his atrocious game, if we had anyone else to replace him with. And yet we won.

I'll take an ugly win over a pretty loss or tie any day.

Injuries are a definite concern, as is general fitness and conditioning. Tactics moving forward will be crucial. But we have 3 points, and Ghana doesn't. Hell yeah!

My man of the match is Jermaine Jones, with Howard a close second. What a performance he turned in. Inspired, dogged, tough, rough-and-tumble. He stepped over to Beasley's side and provided crucial cover at times, yet was all over the pitch. I've given him a lot of grief over the past few years, but he came through today, big time. Big time.

If we park the bus like this against Portugal, we'll be murdered. Absolutely murdered.

Edit: And Brooks? I'll admit I was wrong there. He had one big gaffe, but recovered and drew the foul. He was tough in there in defense, where he was woefully unprepared to step in. Then there's that offensive thing. What was it? Oh yeah, the game-winning goal :D

Portugal haven't got much past golden boy. No Pepe either.

Beckerman for man of the match or riot!!

All kidding aside, I didn't think he was as atrocious as Stout seemed to think. I'd put more of the blame on Beasley on the left side, and Bradley for playing like absolute crap all game. He's supposed to be the man (along with Dempsey I guess) and was totally awful.

Please repeat this post for someone who subs for us in the next match.
He did have a great finish but his play as a whole was not great. There is a reason many thought he would not make the roster.

No one really cares right now. You sir, are awarded the "golden post" of the match. I am counting on more of your magic. :p

So maybe it is my history of being a Cardinals fan, but that win felt strangely familiar...

That has to be Bradley's worst game of the cup right? Dempsey seemed slower once his nose got bashed. And, Altidore is obviously our best player for pressing the attack.

Without those three playing well, we won't be playing deep into this thing IMO.

I'll agree with Jermaine Jones. He had a hell of a game. Best he has had in a US shirt. My 2nd was Bedoya. He played his heart out on defense. They gave Dempsey man of the match. He scored a great goal but did nothing afterwards. He doesn't really help on defense.
