The Rackers Police will be coming to break this party up, spearheaded by Sheriff 40yearfan... Rackers is a joke. What good is a kicker if he is not clutch? Really, enlighten me...

Can anyone really count that chip shot attempt as a clutch attempt? Plenty of time on the clock, coming out of a timeout and the Cardinals weren't going to lose if he missed it.

Bring back Nugent or whoever it was that filled in a couple of weeks ago.

I'm so glad that those of us that could not make it thru 10 minutes of Wii can complain about NFL players.... get off your ass and kick a FG!

it looked like he had a steel rod wedged between his butt cheeks before the kick - knew he was going to pull it - it is what it is, he gives us lots of great opportunities in every other facet of the game except game winning field goals

Don't think this thread title is really appropriate.

I do. (Well, maybe not the kill part but he deserves a beating)

This guy has been and always will be a liability when it comes to clutch kicks.

He never got out of the doghouse for his missed 28 yarder against the Niners, not to mention the Monday Night Meltdown.

Then this ?

All the trick kicks in the world are not worth a guy that can't win a game for you.

He is the goat regardless if we won. Friggin' choke artist.

I dont necessarily think we should cut him (joking or not), but dang he's not the best in "pressure" kicks.

Nugent, really?
He made some extra points, etc.
Nothing like what he would have faced, and probably also would have shanked, tonight.

Why fix a leak with fatigued metal?

This is an offseason issue and Rackers has at least one more chance at redemption.

Rackers is simply everything you want from a kicker except for clutch. I love the dude and he plays great 99% of the time. It's just when we really needed him, he did not come through. Linn "Wide Left" Elliott comes to mind. Wide right, you missed, wide left, you choked. Just my opinion, but that's what I've seen from kickers.

I'm certainly appreciative of Rackers' onside kicks but the '05-'06 team needed a kicker like that much more than the current team does.

But I also don't even have the same faith in Rackers' kickoffs which used to be a real strength.

I find it very hard to justify paying him the kind of money he gets for the occasional onside kick attempt. He has been pretty average in most other aspects and I would rather see his salary go toward some of the other guys like Boldin or whoever.

That sums up Rackers right there.

I'm torn on this. Rackers is a good kicker, and I love his intensity. He is a football player. The only time I don't trust Rackers is in the clutch. I knew he was going to miss that kick. Who didn't? We have seen it all before. I don't particularly envy kickers in that situation. I can not even begin to imagine the pressure they are under. Part of me wants to be pissed at Rackers for missing that kick, but most of me is pissed at that D for pissing away a 21 point lead in the second half. Rackers should have never been in that situation to begin with, but he was and needs to make that kick. The Cards won and that is great.

I'm sure Rackers is pissed and his "problem" in the clutch seems to be some sort of mental block. I feel for the guy and 99% of the time I love Rackers on this team. I also think the title of this thread is highly inappropriate FWIW.
