Tell me a better option Whiz could've gone with.
Haven't read the rest of the thread, so I'm sure this has been mentioned ad naseum....but the answer is as simple as "leinart."

Big cannon arm? No.

Accurate? Much more so than DA.

At least admit that if he was on the roster he'd be clamored for by fans AND have the chance to win his teammates' support at this point.

It's all relative.

Don't kid yourself, letting Boldin go was the right football move even if it still hurts my heart to see him gone.
No. Boldin's departure was most certainly not the right "football" move. It may have been the right NFL-reality move, but not the right football move, which implies that the team is better without him on the field. The ledger may be better without him, the team is most certainly not.

From the azcentral.com game chat:

PaolaBoivin:
Just received two back-to-back text messages from friends sitting in different parts of stadium that said exact same thing: "Anderson sucks" [via Twitter]

kentsomers:
Anderson is 7-17 for 56 yards and 1 int in the first. Fans have right to ask: How much worse could Max Hall be?

Better as in the result...I'll take 4.9 in a win over 8.6 in a loss. :D

Ah. Slightly better.

This is one of those wins where you kind of just forget the game ever got played. It's kind of like a moral defeat, but still better than a moral victory.

The more I watch the tape the more I agree with Whiz. He has improved from when he first got here, whether the stats say it or not his footwork is much better now than the first pre-season game. Plus I trust Whiz. I've said all along I think this team lacks a lot of chemisty but once we get into sync I think we could be one of the best teams in football. You can all call me crazy but having watched all the games from pre-season to now at least twice, I gotta agree with Whiz. I do think though it gets worse before it gets better. Two tough games coming up but after the Saints game I think we see a much better team.

I will never question Whiz again if he can get DA to play good football.

I'll give it til midseason to check back on that.

Cardinals coach Ken Whisenhunt said in his post-game press conference that he never considered benching Derek Anderson for Max Hall during Sunday's win over the Raiders.
Beat writer Kent Somers takes this to mean that Hall won't be replacing Anderson in the starting lineup soon. Still, the Cardinals are just treading water due to Anderson's inaccuracy, barely beating the bottom-feeding Rams and Raiders for their two wins. D.A.'s yards-per-attempt average on the year is a ghastly 5.9, and he's completing 52 percent of his passes. We have a hard time believing that Hall's sharper accuracy wouldn't make for a better fit in the offense.

^^^No coach is going to say they considered benching their starting QB. I'd imagine Anderson's leash is going to be very small unless Whiz feels Hall isn't going to be much matter.

DA isn't going to get pulled anytime soon. I really don't think we see Max Hall until week 12 at the earliest if at all. May as well sit back and enjoy the ride as best as you can.

Surprisingly didn't get booed. I definitely didn't even consider booing him and hearing some of the people around me moaning about certain things was irritating. Really amazes me how clueless people are.

I subscribe to this also. He would become a miracle worker in my eyes.

Let me be the first.

You are crazy.

If we continue with the level of QB play we will never get in sync.

2010 Cards with Anderson: 2-1

2010 Cards "with Leinart" : 2-1

We still would have lost to Atlanta and beaten the Rams and Raiders with Matt, so it is a tie at this point. :D
hey i wanted matt to get the job, but didn't he already lose to the raiders once in his rookie year? or was that preseason

Are you saying this based on things you've seen because I can tell you Derek Anderson is a better QB now than when he got here. Its on the tape. From the first pre-season game till now his footwork is MUCH better. I image his passing would get worse before it gets better because you're feet and you're hips is what leads to the rest of you're pass. Whiz is taking a guy with a cannon arm and tweaking his technical mistakes (if Anderson is willing enough to listen), thus giving him a different throwing motion. I believe Whiz thinks if those small mistakes are fixed he'll be a much better passer. Hes overcompesated his passes with power his entire career because he knows he isn't going to put the ball where he wants it. If its any slower it would probably be picked. If the small mechanics fix his accuracy, even a little, I think we see a much better ball.

I'm not a Derek Anderson supporter or hater. I want to win ball games. I think we have the best head coach in the game. When he says he believes he can "fix" Anderson then I truly think he believes that. So when I look at the tape to see if I can see the things he does, I do. His mechanics ARE being fixed. Whether that helps his accuracy is yet to be determined.

I don't think we need 40 threads bitching about him and his play.

Ken Whisenhunt completely screwed the pooch folks. You cannot...CANNOT be successful in this league botching the QB position as bad as Ken has. This season is lost. The QB's play effects everything. Turnovers, missed receivers, killing drives...get used to it. Unbelievable. What a mess.

Thank you very much for having the Guts to post the Truth about Whisenhunt.
