Ryan Williams on Coach Whiz:

I take my hat off to Coach Whiz. Since training camp, he has been very stern, very stern. He says a lot of things and we listen.

He has been doing a great job with all of us.

Did he start crying after he said that? I swear Williams looks like he ready to bust out into tears every time they show him.

Cryan Williams?????? :D.

I just want to officially say that although I rarely if ever thought we should fire Whiz that I will officially eat crow on some of the bad things I might of said about him.

Maybe he learned?

Dunno but everyone on here that posts their opinons about stuff will sooner or later be wrong, so it's really not about us as fans it's about the team we all care about.

So the good news is they are 3 and 0 and the even better news is that the defense is really really good and also the good news is Kolb somehow is comming out of it.

All these things coach Whiz gets credit for, he still manages some late game situations strangely, you can have both exist in the universe.

I really don't think he ever did anything to get fired but it was getting close at times that's just honest, glad he figured out whatever he needed to figure out but let's not act like he was golden at all times he wasn't, he is however looking like a lot better coach right now then ever IMO.

If Whiz gets decent play from his QB (who he typically asks a lot from), Whiz is going to win some ball games. Facter in our defense, Whiz is going to win some playoff games.

Seriously. He has to go.

No creativity. No common sense. A fan can look at a formation and tell you what is coming. If a fan can do that - the other team knows what is coming.

Absolutely pathetic.

This game should have been one-sided...for us.

Cardinals, with a different coaching staff and the same talent, blow out these crappy Vikings, IMHO.

Hindsight is 20-20.... hehehe

Whiz has coached the team to 4 playoff wins so far. More than any other in Cards history, I believe. Apparently many forgot that when this thread got fired up a ways back. But, as usual, what have you done for me lately always rears it's ugly head.

Eating crow is nice, but there is not an NFL fanbase that would not be calling for thier HC to get fired in the midst of a 6-17 record over a 23 game span.

No coach is perfect. Shoot, 2 weeks ago Horton was saying he basically knew what the Patriots were calling. In hindsight, I look at the season and a half after Warner left until we started winning again, as Whiz having to deal with losing a lot of "Denny guys" that were forced on him. Guys like Dansby and Rolle and Leinart, plus Boldin and Warner. It's hard for any coach to lose that much talent in a 2 season window and not have a bad year or two.

In hindsight yeah, as it was playing out though he made some strange moves, he bet his job on being right and he turned out to be.

That's what you do in the NFL, had Kolb not come around, had we started out 0 and 3 instead of the other way then things look different, just the reality of the NFL.

The way I look at it, he got credit for taking Denny's guys to the SB, he can't simultaneously say they are crap I need time to get my guys and that takes time and still fail to mention a lot of those dudes carried him to the SB.

So I have a hard time feeling for him having guys forced on him that were good enough to reach the SB.

There have been great times and some very bad times with Whiz here. But he is a pretty damn good coach. At one point surfing the 1-6 run I was ready to fire everyone and start over... Glad we didn't.

Don"t let facts get in the way of a good argument. :p

Whiz needs to go. Two and one and you DON'T run Beanie and lineup for the shotgun instead? Seriously?

There is a reason the Steelers didn't want him. Sadly, we are learnin why.

Again I say there is a reason the Steelers didn't want Whiz as their head coach. Too bad we couldn't see it until now.

I'd like my crow served fried with some marinara sauce, please and thank you.

Still, I give Horton a ton of great for this team's success.

Well, he fumbled the ball at the end of a big game and he lost his grandfather recently, so I can see where he might not be so happy lately.

For your convenience:

Potted Crow:

6 crows
3 bacon slices
stuffing of your choice
1 diced carrot
1 diced onion
chopped parsley
hot water or stock
1/4 cup shortening
1/4 cup flour
buttered toast

Clean and dress crows; stuff and place them upright in stew-pan on the slices of bacon. Add the carrot, onion and a little parsley, and cover with boiling water or stock.
Cover the pot and let simmer for 2-3 hours, or until tender, adding boiling water or stock when necessary.
Make a sauce of the shortening and flour and 2 cups of the stock remaining in the pan.

Serve each crow on a thin slice of moistened toast, and pour gravy over all.

Crow Pie:

1 crow
stuffing of your choice
salt and pepper
shortening
flour
2 Pie crust mixes
2-3 hard-boiled eggs

Stuff the crow. Loosen joints with a knife but do not cut through.
Simmer the crow in a stew-pan, with enough water to cover, until nearly tender, then season with salt and pepper. Remove meat from bones and set aside.
Prepare pie crusts as directed. (Do not bake)
Make a medium thick gravy with flour, shortening, and juices in which the crow has cooked and let cool.
Line a pie plate with pie crust and line with slices of hard-boiled egg. Place crow meat on top. Layer gravy over the crow. Place second pie dough crust over top.
Bake at 450 degrees for 1/2 hour.

I avoided this thread (and the board) because I thought you guys and gals were wrong. I thought it was a lack of execution and poor play. I'm glad that has proven to be the casr.

I may have to eat crow on my 7-9 prediction this year.
