If only the friendly with Mexico was in Italy. They could somehow "arrange" for the US to win in grand fashion in JK debut! :)

Where's Davies? I thought he was having a solid year for DC?

Not sure. I would have thought they would have considered him in place of Beasley/Buddle.

I don't expect a slaughter. I expect a one goal loss.

Could very well be a tight game. Mexico's forwards are mostly wingers, and there is no real "9" with both Hernandez and De Nigris out with injuries.

Who do you think Klinsmann plans to play at left back? I follow Club America, and from what I've seen from Castillo so far, is that he's got speed and can sometimes make dangerous cuts. Defensively, I'd say he 's maybe slightly better than Bornstein. You can expect a barrage of crosses from Dos Santos and Barrera, but feel slightly better about no real striker being there to put them in.

I'd say Mexico still wins 2-0.

They would probably play Bocanegra at left back IMO. He could move Boganegra to the middle try to start Tim Ream as well. Not sure.

I wasn't even aware that Bocanegra could play left back. He's way too slow to keep up with any of our wings. My guess is Klinsmann puts him in the middle along with Ream. The outside defenders being Cherondulo and Chandler?

Here is another goal, this time from Brad Rusin, a US defender that I honestly never heard of before, played for UCLA and the Carolina Railhawks before he got signed in Denmark...

Obviously it wasn't any kind of significant injury in that he went the full 90 for his club team on Sunday.

But according to the Washington Post...
“With the understanding that this was the start of the Bundesliga season and Timmy is trying to secure a starting job in his first full season, the [three] agreed he wouldn’t come in for this game,” USSF spokesman Michael Kammarman told the Insider.

Instead, Chandler and Hecking committed to both U.S. friendlies next month: against Costa Rica Sept. 2 in Carson, Calif., and four days later against Belgium in Brussels.

(Hecking is his manager at Nuremberg)

Jozy came off the bench and scored in his debut in Holland. Let's hope this is a sign of things to come.

More excited to see what Brek Shea can do on the international level. I've seen some of the goals he's scored for Dallas, and they're impressive. Hopefully he gets good playing time on Wed.

I really like Brek Shea, I was starting to think he wouldn't have a place in Bradley's favored scheme, now I am willing to be JK finds a spot for him somewhere on the field. He will be a big part of the Olympic team too.
