Without LMA

Bledsoe, Archie
Knight, Booker
PJ, TJ,
Morris, Leuer
Chandler, Len

Opens up some room for FA signing or someone off the summer league roster. Actually, Gerald Green or Bogdan would be a welcome addition to that group.

That roster is OK, could even surprise a little, but LMA would make a huge difference.

Booker will play some SF in some small ball lineups maybe towards the end of the year.
Something like Knight, Goodwin, Booker whilst resting the "older" players lol.

JCSunsfan, I like the new streamlined Suns roster.

It got the Suns down to their core players. Aldridge would obviously be a huge addition but even if the Suns do not sign him, one can see where the team needs to make additions. Minimally, I would like for the Suns to add another PG, SG and a FC. You are right there is room for Gerald Green or Bogdan Bogdanovic. We will have a better picture once Aldridge makes a decision.

Too bad about Aldridge. That would have made us a playoffs team. We still can make the playoffs if we get another shooter/point guard and maybe a decent inside player. I think Len and Chandler will be nice and hopefully Archie and TJ have taken significant steps this summer. Archie is still young so I hope we don't give up on him just yet. I don't expect much from Booker.

I'd take Bogdan, I don't see the point in Green. He is a chucker, nothing more, on most nights he hurts us on both ends of the court and he'd be blocking younger guys who will, hopefully, actually grow into well rounded players.

We need a backup PG (I don't trust Goodwin, he needs to learn how to play off the ball) and we need a forward, he can be a sf/pf or pf, but we need another legit option in the front court.

Now we are back looking at another season in the 9-11th seed and the entire NBA having capspace next season while we won't have all that much next year.

Our power forwards are now Markieff Morris who probably does not want to be here anymore and Jon Leuer...

The plan was to bring Bogdon over next season. I think his buyout may be too much right now unless the Suns can work some charm or have some language built into his Euro contract.

Time to cash in on Markieff and PJ Tucker.

How? Think the Nets would take them for Prozingis? I would do that just as part of a rebuild.

I would be interested to see what Markieff is like without Marcus.

What is Tucker good for?

He is solid, but too many lapses off the court, not a good role model, no upside..

Next year has to be a tank year for the Suns, no way we can endure another 40win season and neglecting to play our young guys with upside.

Trade Tucker for a pick, start TJ Warren, sign KJ McDaniels.

Sheesh we aren't going to tank. We essentially have the same team plus Chandler, that's not a recipe for tanking. Especially with a healthy Knight.

I agree. The Tyson Chandler trade makes losing a bad strategy. I disagree with this type thinking. Except for the recruitment of Aldridge, signing Robin Lopez would have the better strategy because of the youth factor.

How is that any different from last year? Wright was playing center and he has been upgraded with Chandler. What power forward did we lose from last year? Marcus Morris?

OK. Well. McD pulled a rabbit out of hat to have us in the Alderidge conversation. I wonder what he has for a back up plan. He is the type that always has one. I would seem to me that the Suns need:

F/C
Shooter
3rd string pg

I would also consider taking a young prospect from a team trying to clear space to finish out their FA signings.

At the end of the day, we committeed money to Chandler. That's fine by me. We needed that type of presence in the locker room. He can also split minutes with Len and that might keep both of them healthier.

We lost Brandan Wright. That's a loss. I would have liked to keep him. He signed an excellent deal with Memphis. There is no way to sugarcoat that.

Gave up Marcus Morris. I can live with that. I was all for cutting him, so we got a future second rounder and someone swallowed his contract, which was not bad. We will see whether Keef thrives without him. I don't mind trading Keef, but I don't mind keeping him either.

Missed out on other free agents. Its just fine. There was no one else out there that would have been the answer anyway.

Hey, LeBron is still unsigned, isn't he?

How was our frontcourt rotation last year any good?

Yeah Chandler is an upgrade over Wright but overall we just solidified ourselves in mediocrity.

Portland should fall out of the playoff race but Utah and OKC are going to be better than us.

This more streamlined roster will make for happier players AND we will get to see the players I WANT to see. TJ is going to get lots of burn. Even Booker is going to get minutes, and unlike most 18 year olds, I think he is ready to get some.

I would guess there is a trade or another signing coming.

No doubt McD has a handful of backup plans, none of which anyone would expect. I have no idea how he keeps everything so secret.

I wouldn't hate it if they brought back Amare and let the medical staff work their voodoo. He has been pretty decent in limited minutes and could be a nice option off the bench.

You have to hope Markieff plays with a chip on his shoulder and continues to improve. Of course he could also destroy the team from the inside. I wouldn't be shocked if the Suns ship him out along with a draft pick or two for a potential upgrade.

Jordan Hill anyone?

He's definitely worth a look. Other power forwards I'd be interested in are Tristan Thompson, Brandon Bass, and maybe even kick the tires on Darell Arthur.

Tristan Thompson? His negotiations have hit a snag with the Cavs (it Rich Paul after all). I wonder if Gilbert took a look at what he just spent and is reconsidering. A sign and trade for Markieff would give them a quality role player and the Suns can take back more than Keef's salary.

I just don't know if I would want to commit max money to Thompson. You can be sure of this. Paul will wait until September to squeeze every last penny he can out of any deal.

Tristan Thompson sucks.

He has no offensive skills whatsoever. He has the game of a center but is 6'9.

I'd rather make a play for Kanter. He is all offense but we have defensive minded centers.

I just pointed out that the PF position hasn't changed even though you were lamenting that Markieff and Leuer were now all we had, implying that the moves made and missing out on Aldridge had depleted that position.

BTW. Did Amare grow? He came into the league at 6-9 but he is listed everywhere at 6-11.
