Your idea has merit but valley restaurants would take a hit without Dudley's patronage. He's been working hard on that retirement body and the tacos are much better in the Valley than they are in Sacramento. Although Sac does have some of the best tamales I've ever eaten.

lol.

This is fun being the center of the NBA's attention... for good reason for once!

Maybe we could get some cash considerations to spread around and cover their losses.

Always couching his answers. Just say no.

Eh... as a charter member of McDonough Freakout Crew, this doesn’t bug me.

Having people talk about the Suns in a position of power is good PR.

Good news on Ayton's defense. It appears Ayton's defense was hampered by playing next to Ristic.

Evan Sidery‏@esidery

McDonough mentioned that Deandre Ayton’s defense was hampered by playing the 4 next to Dusan Ristic. He’s 100% a 5 on the next level. Has great foot speed to stick with smaller players on the perimeter.

Something that most pro Ayton people already consider part of the issue in college. Obviously he still has things to work on defense wise, but it will be very helpful for him to not be out of position in the NBA.

There are only 3 or 4 players in the league worth trading that pick for. I'm sure most could find reason why we shouldn't make a deal for one of those guys also, so it's best we just keep it unless the Pelicans or Bucks are beating down our door offering either Davis or Giannis then we should keep the pick.
Always couching his answers. Just say no.

Answering the way he did allows other teams to call and determine the price of the pick. There is no harm in hearing teams out. The pick is extremely valuable, why not see what others would give for it?

This. There simply no value in announcing that there is absolutely no chance that you are trading the pick. People like to find things to nit pick when it comes to McD, but this just shouldn't be one of those things.

I really hope you get Ayton. No kidding, this will be the best for everyone. Suns are gonna play basketball, with or without Doncic. So will Doncic.

He's also MVP in the Spanish league this year. 12,8 pts / 5 ass / 5,8 reb

I can see it being spun the other way also. If he said the pick won't be traded then he'd be showing his hand too soon and not allowing other teams to make their best offers for the pick. Damned either way. The way he did it though damns him less, IMO, because it keeps all options open without directly announcing our intentions.

I agree, the Suns need to listen to offers for the #1 pick but I'm wanting Ayton on a rookie contract.

The Suns need another star next to Booker and Jackson. Ayton should be that player. The Suns save tons of money and preserve assets for the 2019-20 season when Chandler and Dudley are off the books.

The Suns should be more ready to contend then.

I swear to cripe....are the media on crack or what?? They think we want Marc Gasol??????? They even say he wants to be on a playoff team so why would he want here? Then they talk about Aldridge, Rozier, or Ingram!!!

Here we are debating whether we want the total stud KAT (and basicly saying no) and they think the suns would even consider that garbage for our unicorn Ayton????

Idiots!

How in the world did you find this site. :p

It was Bagley. He really wants to be here.

Based on today's coverage, it sounds like it may have been Bamba.

http://www.nba.com/article/2018/05/21/morning-tip-pre-combine-interviews-bring-interesting-tidbits

The Suns, according to a source, interviewed a player who is a projected top five pick—which made sense, considering Phoenix has the top pick in the Draft after winning the Lottery.

The player told the assembled front office and coaches, ”I’d love to play for the Phoenix Suns. I’m not just saying that because you guys have the number one pick—I really feel like I’m the best player in the Draft and the best fit for your roster.

Today:

https://www.brightsideofthesun.com/...dre-ayton-luka-doncic-mohamed-bamba-nba-draft

One other note I found interesting was that Mohamed Bamba told the Suns in Chicago last week that he wants to compete for the chance to be taken at the top. Bamba told them he believes he’s better than the rest ahead of him in consideration and wants to come to Phoenix and prove it in a workout setting. McDonough loved the confidence Bamba exuded to them, and it wouldn’t surprise me to see them have top three grades on him.

Hahaha....maybe I was on crack too??

I don't think so.

As I previously mentioned, I like to read the comments after these articles. So there I was looking for more. Luckily there was none.

Even opening up the possibility of comparing Ayton to Alex Len is, let's just say, not convincing. That is conjecture and if it applies to Ayton, it applies to Doncic. I choose the big man.

After 48 years of watching Phoenix (now the fifth largest city in the country) still act like a small town team like Tucson or San Diego (coincidentally Sarver's home town and his base business city), yes, I won't be able to give my heart to the Suns if they take a chance (as you seem to be calling it) on a Center that comes along once in decades vs. take a chance on a Small Forward (where we are already overloaded) to play Point Guard because he is a good passer.

That would be driving the spike into the Suns reaching the state of mind of becoming a (high) playoff contender. You know how refs call games differently in the post-season, favoring strength.

I was not being dramatic when I said that I could not bring myself to root for the Suns for a 49th season if management still acts like wusses. For me, enough is enough. Again I remind you to look at my age and picture how you'll think about it forty-three years from now. That is my perspective! And if you don't understand or respect my right to feel that way, you just might understandwhen you get older.

I think you will get your big man BC. And it has been a long wait.

I do too. I couldn't find any comments when I first posted it.

That site was so rediculous it was hard to even find words to describe. I was ticked off! Ha

I think there’s a strong enough case for either being BPA that you can take the debate to the issue of need. With Ayton the lineup falls into place - now. And while I’m not saying there’s going to be a Doncic-equivalent in next year’s draft (or that the Suns would be in position to draft him if so), it does seem more likely that the Suns can replace what they miss out on with Doncic.

If he ends him being like a top 10 all-time player or something, well it’ll suck to have missed on him. But it’s too hard to project that now.
