Ayton just said he’s sure he’s going #1 after his workout today.

He said teaming with Booker would be Shaq and Kobe 2.0.

I just hope he doesn't think he's going to be Kevin Durant. I want him playing down low for us the majority of the time.

Hopefully he will do both. JMHO, the Lakers ruined part of Vlade Divac's game by making him play down low. He had a nice outside shot coming into the NBA.

I really like Ayton's high release on his shot. No one is going to block those. He has plenty of time to work on the mechanics of his 3 point shooting at NBA range.

I love his range. I just hope he doesn't love his range too much and wants to play inside.

It was nice to hear him put to bed the nonsense talk of him not wanting to play center. He said he is a player and that he will play wherever the coach wants him to play.

I know Ayton was scoring at about a 60% clip but I'd like to know where the majortiy of his shots were coming from. I assume with his blistering fg% it must be from inside....right?

In the modern NBA Ayton needs to do both... it's to his advantage and the Suns.

I agree, it would be disappointing to see him like the outside shot too much. The great news is the Suns should be able to build his game.

I can't remember the source, but I'm almost positive I watched or read something where he said that he is different from other new-age bigs in that he works inside-out, rather than outside-in.

The feels like the day we won the lottery again, maybe more exciting and nothing really happened. I know Ayton coming in is a big step and helps put to bed some concern we were going a different direction but it's really not unexpected either. I guess seeing Ayton with the Suns is just a relief.

It does. Except the anxiety leading up to the Suns being selected for the #1 pick in the lottery was torturous.

The great thing is we get to relive this feeling again on June 21st.

Yeah it was torture. Then on top of it the day it happened I didn't get to watch it so I was relying on you guys for info. When two teams jumped higher you guys started acting screwed then I thought we got third pick!!! For like a few minutes I was bumming...then BC said we had #1 pick. Woo hoo!

This is how Igor's offense works too. He has players doing a lot of cutting and screens across the key and then popping out to the 3pl for a catch and shoot or rolling to the hoop. Perfect offense for Ayton.

Im a huge UA fan, so ive seen all his games. I mean what hes worked on after the season, heading into SL, and then training camp.

He has some work to do and a lot of kinks to fix. Nothing major though, and I think he turns into a solid shooter from range, if not better.

Still shoots a flat ball. Release point needs to be a bit higher with a natural follow through, instead of a flat arc. Footwork needs better balance, ect. Small things like that which you can be taught and correct. His touch is good, and his shot is nowhere near broken.

And a perfect offense for Suns fans to watch if everything goes as planned. It should be refreshing.

I haven't watched Ayton a lot but casually looking at his shot, he seems to have more arc on it closer to the basket. Perhaps I'm just enjoying his high release and soft touch.

It would be nice if Brittney Griner of our Mercury, one of the best Centers in the WNBA, is no longer the best Center in Phoenix.

And if the Suns can add a third banner to the rafters (for Western Conference champions) in their sixth decade. For starters.

Shaq and Kobe 2.0. LOL

The Suns time is close.

I meant in terms of Thabeet being a bust as the second pick, and Mourning being a success... picked right after Shaq in 92 draft, much like going right after Ayton in this draft. Hopefully, Ayton will have a Shaq-like career.

If that analogy holds, Doncic ends up being Christian Laettner... which I can totally see. Way overhyped, and competent but forgettable career.
