McDonough did not close his mind to mind to moving down in the draft although he termed it "less likely." They would still have to stay within range of a top pick.

I know everyone is sold on Ayton (including me) but how awesome would it be for the Suns to have two top picks and walk away with Bamba and Young as an example.

It would take a godfather offer to do this.

The discussion is whether the Suns would consider a trade down based upon an enormous trade offer. McDonough did not rule this out.

How are Ayton and Bamba that much different than Davis and Cousins? They don't have the skill those 2 do but I doubt they'd be better than those 2. That's a close pairing for them in the modern league and New Orleans were a borderline playoff team with those 2. Not a fan of that pairing. If the Suns can trade up, it shouldn't be to draft Bamba. Bamba may be Davis on defense one day, but not offensively. Ayton should be better than Cousins in time, possibly next year, but that's due to Cousins injury.

Because unlike New Orleans we have booker and JJ to add to that mix.

I think Bamba will move up in the draft, perhaps right after Ayton. IMO the Suns would have a better chance to trade for Doncic or Young.

Young and Booker would be a very weak backcourt defensively. Reminds me of Lillard/McCollum or Curry/Ellis.

Am I the only one who came away after the Suns worked out Bamba yesterday thinking this kid is going to be much better than Gobert?

His intelligence, measurements and skills sold me. He is going to be able to protect the rim right away. I'm going to be sick when another team drafts him.

Hes a very intelligent kid. Just hearing him talk, you can tell he’s gonna be the ultimate professional and will put in the hard work needed to become a big time player in the NBA. I was very surprised.

Just hearing him talk about why he should be the #1 pick was very impressive.

I think 2-3 years from now, he ends up the best player from this draft.

I guess I look at it from an area of strength rather than weakness. Other teams are going to have to defend that back court. The Suns would need to have the right players upfront.

I guess next year's pick is intriguing... but it's the only real gem of the bunch that another team can depend on being lottery-esque. But otherwise,I just don't think throwing a ton of middle of road assets at a team is going to get us a top 4 pick in a loaded draft, even if you throw all of them.

when proposing a trade like that, take a look at it and consider if WE would take that trade or one similar to it for our pick? You'd immediately say no.

There is a lot to like about Bamba. The same with Jackson. Bagley slid a bit in comparison IMO.

I like Ayton with the #1 pick because he is a safe pick, he has all the tools to be an elite player and he fits an area of need.

However, a number of players could be the best player in the draft in 2-3 years.

I wish we still had Bledsoe to deal. He could be the sort of player that could be packaged with all of our picks to get us back in the top 10. Unfortunately, we have the Bucks pick now. Bledsoe, #16, and Miami's 2021 pick would probably get the #8 from Cleveland. Not sure about other deals but I think getting 8 is the most likely top 10 pick. Take advantage of Koby Altman's inexperience.
