Alicia Witt is a goddess.

Went to sleep after watching her as Paula on TWD. Woke up and put on Law & Order: Criminal Intent while getting ready for work the next morning and there she was as Detective Nola Falacci. :D

Just watched the last two, was in Mexico for a week. The raid on behave compound was brutal, really something out of character for the group. I'm wondering if Jesus knew negan isn't at that compound.

The second episode was cool but very slow after the first. Carol is a manipulative beast. Negan's following must be massive

They are definitely pushing the group to the point of no return. I mean for the first time it was kind of hard to cheer for the group.

yeah...I think they played down the lack of food a bit but the impression is that they are pretty hungry... murder is hard to cheer for...but it illustrates what they are willing to do to survive.

however...it conflicts with the story line... if they are willing to do this... then why, when Rick and Daryl caught up with Jesus after he stole their truck of supplies...why did they not just kill him and go home?
is there a moral component? The saviors group has been strong arming the hilltopppers, threatening death if they do not give up the supplies...basically post apocalyptic slavery... so maybe it is not just hunger motivated... maybe they are still the "Good guys" and just taking advantage of a situation where they can benefit each other.

They were going to leave him to die, until they realized that Jesus never even pulled a weapon on either of them, when Jesus could have.

yeah, hunger crossed with reports of how horrible these people are, that they will kill the hilltoppers and ruin that food supply as well if something isnt done along with the threat of saviors coming to alexandria and killing their people as well. If they were known as peaceful people, rick would likely talk to them. They are known as the opposite so what other option do you have?

Agreed.....

This isn't Ozzie and Harriet land..... This is a post apocalyptic world. Rick and his gang have been and I still believe are, decent people trying to get along. But if someone is going to take all your food and/or kill you, you do what you have to do.

Remember Negan's motorcycle clods were in the process of killing and stealing all their stuff. THAT'S who Negan is.

Man, character motivations just come out of nowhere on this show. Carol suddenly develops a conscience... Just because? Weird.

I was assuming that it was a reaction to the Paula character, with Carol identifying with both who Paula was and who she had become. The Inside the Walking Dead segment bore this out, at least in intent. (But in the same segment Greg Nicotero said that her hyperventilating was real, because of fear for Maggie, whereas I think most viewers took it for 100% a ruse--since she wanted them to see her as weak, and to make a show of wanting the comfort of "her" rosary). I also assume there's just a lot of PTSD happening, with characters having to become almost manic in their ability to kill out of necessity and then return to some semblance of humanity.

Anyway, I really thought these last two episodes were good. The Michelle character telling Maggie, "You're not the good guys. You should know that" was a little heavy-handed, but at the same time it reminded viewers of their perspective. They are the good guys because they're our good guys. We have to assume that most other groups have members as conflicted as Rick's. Most of the time the worst groups are under simply under the control of a bad guy. I don't think Rick is that yet.

You are 33 according to your profile, how old is your daughter that you let her watch TWD? just curious

I think his daughter is currently 13.

She was 10 in a 2012 post, so she likely turns 14 this year.

Ah, early birthday girl. :D

yeah, January. I had her a month after I turned 19.

My 7 year old son watches some episodes with us too though. I am more concerned about nudity and sex scenes than I am violence and zombies. Violence and zombies are easier to explain the fiction of.

It was a quick character change, but not quite out of nowhere. She had started tabulating the number of people she had killed in a previous episode. Her interactions with Morgan have something to do with it, dammit. He's ruining EVERYTHING!

Although Carol shooting that chick after she nearly stabbed Maggie was pretty brutal and 100% Carol.

A few weeks have gone by since the fight too, I assume this has been eating at her since then.

man it was a doosie tonight!!

Tara getting killed was unexpected...it actually shocked me it was so sudden...even though I told my ol'lady to watch for that walker in the car to get her...but then that died down,and... BAM!!

Figured it was going to be Eugene who died after his episode with Abraham...then Abe's guilt could have given him a new purpose and storyline to run with........ the dickbiter scene was predictable though...called that as soon as he outed Abe.....
Carol....damn...I thought after her talk with Daryl she was gonna go back to being the Carol we all know and love...psycho mom of the apocalypse and all that.... didn't see her running away coming at all.....

anyway...good episode...lots happened....and Daryl got his crossbow back....I hope it really hurts when he catches up with blondie..........

Someone gets gutted next week and rosary beads are laying in a pool of blood at the scene ( coming attraction for next week ). Hmmmm. Gotta believe Morgan is involved in the search for Carol ( final scene).

Man, 38 minutes into tonight's episode and I had completely written it off as an awful filler episode, but the last 22 minutes has one of the best good guy monologing cut short moments, the line of the series by the red-head and a big stinger at the end.
