I see most people disappointed in how the show has handled Abraham and that goes back to something I said after the midseason premiere about how I wish they'd kill Daryl. Him being Rick's right hand man has kept strong male characters like Abraham and Tyreese from becoming as popular as they are in the comics. Daryl being around keeps any male from ascending to Rick's 2nd in command. While I'm not completely sold on the casting of Jesus in the show, I love the character in the comics. I fear for him once the ball gets rolling with the Negan/Saviors war because he's another character who will likely take a backseat to Daryl. It wouldn't surprise me if everyone is talking about Jesus like they are Abraham now when next season rolls around.
They actually kept Tyreese around longer than the character was in the comics so I don't understand your correlation here. And if we're going by the comics, Abraham's days are numbered anyway.

Since when? They haven't explored that in a long time. Seems to me the writers abandoned it for some reason. They haven't even interacted this season.

I know..... but they had some real chemistry together..... and a lot of fans, perhaps most, wanted to seem them have a "thing" together.

I had a body count of 20 kills on that raid....how many dudes does Negan have?

The preview (next week) showed a group of Negan breeders. Are they Amazon warriors?

Does this hint at a Carol/ Maggie vs Negan chicks throw down?

if this show wanted to surprise and REALLY kick us in the gut, they'd pull a switcheroo on all of us and have Negan bash Maggie's head in, killing her and the baby, as his entrance. THAT would be brutal and would actually get me off the kill Glenn soapbox I've been yelling from since his fake death. Saving Glenn time after time... only to have him witness that would be a game-changer for his character.

That wouldn't be surprising one bit. That would be sadistic. Not sure any other character has faced more tragedy on the show. Actually that would piss me off way more than any of Glenn's fake deaths. Glenn's time is coming even though the writers felt the need to put the ball on a "T" verses all the dumb fake out stuff as a setup for later.

That would be brutal but I doubt they do it considering they didn't even have the testicular fortitude to kill off Judith.

This last episode was amazing and one of the reasons I won't give up on the show. Although they have some episodes that are predictable and drawn out, like the midseason premiere, they throw in episodes like this last weeks that get you on the edge of your seat throughout. I know I've read the comics so I have a loose idea of what's coming but I enjoy the twists and variations they do with big moments from the comics. I'm fine with them not following them to a t and using them as an outline of sorts. It's sort of like Game of Thrones though, when the writers take the show in a different direction completely from the source material they either hit a home run or strike out embarrassingly. Like Carol has been an excellent character in the show vs what she was in the comics but then characters like Andrea were damaged beyond any repair.

but are they really going to have a second baby just floating around the world that they completely ignore? I mean, from a story perspective, if I were in the room, I'd have to wonder what the point of that story is a second time?

Well it's in the comics but I have been wondering at what point they do a fast forward in time on the show. For a live action series it unbelievable with all the noise a baby makes they would survive or the baby would for long. Let alone two. At some point they need to fast forward the timeline I would think to make the kids older. I believe in the comics, Maggie's baby at some point is depicted as a toddler.

They jumped 2 years ahead in the comics after the whole "All Out War" story arc. I think that had something to do with the TV show from Kirkman's perspective. Look at Carl from season 1 to now, can they really say it's just been 2 years since the start? Lori got pregnant, had Judith, and now Judith still isn't walking or a toddler yet. She was introduced in season 3, we're in season 6, just compare how Carl looks from then until now. Do they really expect people to believe it's been about 1 year, probably less?

That's the problem with kids in TV series, they age quicker than the story does. They can get away with Judith being a baby for a good while but having young siblings like Carl who looked 8 when the show started but is now on the verge of being 18. Adding pregnancies gives the show a sort of calendar that is unavoidable. I can suspend belief because it's a show about zombies but they need to keep some sort of realistic timeframe.

Eh, I think this is a 50/50. Have thought for awhile this is how they turn it.

Man, character motivations just come out of nowhere on this show. Carol suddenly develops a conscience... Just because? Weird.

Game of Thrones hit the same problem when the actor playing Bran hit puberty with a vengeance. During a stretch of time in the story that maybe covered 6 months he grew over a foot and his face changed a ton. And he was supposed to appear paralyzed and enfeebled.

I loved how he got to big for Hodor to carry so they gave him a wagon. At least the other kids haven't aged as bad in that show. It's like they need to take a look at their parents back when they were teenagers for a rough estimate of what to expect when it comes to casting a child for a multi-season series.

Last nights episode was really good. Another sort of sidestep from the comics but that's to be expected with so much time to fill each season.

I was expecting someone to die, wouldn't have been too disappointed, just to sort of amp up the severity because Negan's group isn't looking too dangerous so far. I would have liked to have seen Alicia Witt's character survive but I understand why they killed her off.

Amazing how quickly that Carly Fiorina was able to find a new gig. Pretty cool they had a role for her on last night's episode.
