I did notice as each episode went on though, that it became more and more brutal, like a slow, agonizing death or all moral and security.
a lot of people seem to disagree though, thats ok. I love him. I did want his backstory and now I dont anymore as he has had enough time but i still enjoyed it.
I wanted it bad when the season started, then having tons of him all season made me want it less. I would still enjoy it though I would just kick a bit on my way in.
Uh... what exactly was the point of making Carl, Rosita and Preggers go towards the zombie herd... you know, besides setting up complete and utter false jeopardy?

As a "TV" guy ( ) you'd be better to comment on this than me, but it seemed like something got edited out there.... one of those time issues, perhaps. I mean, it was awkward, yes..... but I'm thinking there was a reason for it that wasn't obvious.

if the needed to save time somewhere, cut out that pointless scene with Carol. That was just false jeopardy for jeopardy sake. otherwise, there's no moment there. I mean, why did ANY of that scene actually happen? They had the explosives... why didn't everyone just keep working on the explosives and then take off?
I still dont understand how this zombie plague took over the world considering how easy Zombies are to kill.
Even in the first months when it was new and they werent sure what was happening, people still wouldnt allow somebody to bite them. Even if you dont realize its a zombie. It could just be a crackhead, but all of us can fight off somebody trying to bite us.
And for arguments sake, assume everybody is a moron and lets themselves get easily bitten...how is it that the military and those with guns were still over run?
It could be a horde of 10,000 zombies, a handful of soldiers with a MG can kill all of them.
This has always been my issue with "bite" zombie stories. Theres no way bite-transferred infections would ever take over the world.

So, as always I enjoyed it thoroughly. I like the three theories of who he smiled at, season one doesn't make a ton of sense but maybe.
Some spoilers of this episode:
How was there a boat note? Gabriel didn't know about the boat, did he? Was he not captured and already knew someone was in the car and they demanded the items?
I found it interesting that Ezekiel denied things for now and assume Daryl staying means he finds Carol and tells her what happened.

pretty sure once Daryl talks with Carol..it will be her that convinces ezekial to fight.
personally,...Ricks smile looked a little crazy,...I think he was getting wood at the prospect of all these new well armed fighters to help them with the saviors...the fact that they were pointing guns at him was moot...convince them he will

Hmm maybe he like, ran into them at some point or like, a guy from there came to him.
Maybe the LORD told him? lol
I liked the episode. I agree with some here, the scene on the highway didnt' really work for me, I was kinda like uhhhhhhh,,,, about everything that was happening.
I'm like, dude aren't they gonna be the prime suspects if this stuff is gone? How do they know Negan doesn't have spies among them?
But whatever, gotta just move stuff along sometimes I guess.
Glad to see things are moving along and cant wait for the war!
It was explained (although poorly). Rick said he wanted to move the cars back to keep the herd on the freeway because "we might need them (the herd) later" or maybe he said "they (the herd) may be useful later". I can't remember the exact quote. For one reason or another Rick wanted to keep the herd on the freeway because he thought they may be useful at a later time. It is a lame reason but a reason none the less.
