Cant agree with #4... Whiz's playcalling had nothing to do with that Delay call nor anyhting to do with Warner's horrid play and guys like Fitz dropping balls.

Things that IMO were not the problem.

The playcalling

Officials

The players botched running the plays, committed penalties and turned the ball over, that's about all it takes.

The team was flat, came out thinking they'd romp and got hosed down.

DD even said on Twitter just wait til UOP and such, well we waited and it's about what I figured would happen, actually we did man up more than I figured we would but I did figure we'd lose given how our preseason went.

In DD's defense he played a good game, even with his bad penalties, but I'm sure when he said that he figured 20 points given up would mean we'd win the game.

It's not just preseason now, wonder how many real games have to be lost before some hard choices are made?

Great points, Joe.

I tried the whole pre-season to reason with the board about the lack of effort this pre-season. Meanwhile in SF they were taking their tasks seriously. It showed today. They prevailed. And they owned the 4th quarter where they were tougher, better prepared and in much better shape.

Perhaps the key play of the game was not even a play. It was Mike Singletary's 3rd quarter timeout and calling the defense over, when the momentum of the game had clearly shifted to the Cardinals.

The next play, off the freaking TO, Warner gets called for a delay of game. These two events in the game were symbolic of the difference between winners and losers.

We were rolling at that point. What a horrific penalty.

I believe that made it 2nd and ten though. Could have been overcome.

7. This team isn't very good. Still way too many gaping holes on the roster and our QB looks like he jumped the shark.

Still could make the playoffs but the perfect storm of coincidences that helped us last year won't happen again.

1. Will people finally give up their unfounded hope that Levi Brown will ever become even an average OT.

2. I had this thought in the back of my head and everyone one else should have felt it as well. You do not come out and win game 1 by treating preseason like its a vacation, and without a doubt that is what we did, screw that "we didnt game plan" crap, the problem was we didnt even try. This team thinks they can flip a switch any time they want to, guess what fella's that isnt how the NFL works, so get over yourselves. Horrible attitude.

3. Why are penalties still an issue, I will tell you why, attitude, see #2. Wilson with another offsides penalty and another stupid helmet to helmet hit. How hard is it for a football player to just tackle the guy, a huge kidney shot is just as good. Its why they have to make these special head blow rules, back in the day players actually knew how to tackle instead of today's players who know how to forearm a guy.

4. Wiz made a horrid mistake in trying to call plays again and not bring in a legit playcaller. He is the head coach he needs to be the head coach. I still love the guy but it has to be said, his ego got in the way of that decision without a doubt.

5. I can easily see us 0-3 going into the bye week. Besides one playoff game last year playing against a horrid QB we still haven't proven we can win on the road, especially on the east coast. And Indy doesn't make stupid mistakes.

6. Now we get to hear the rest of the week from the coaches and players, "its just game 1, glad it happened early so we can fix it" and my all time favorite, "this was a good lesson for us". Their bravado, excuses, and tired sayings make me want to puke.

I pretty much agree with most of this. #3 especially. I just can't understand why the Cards constantly have 10+ penalties a game.

To me if they eliminate the penalties they win this game.

The Chiefs aren't very good, the Chiefs have gaping holes, we have more or less the standard ones you have.

Very few teams have an awesome O line with a great D line and all the offensive stars we have, it's just the way it goes, you only have so much room.

Teams with great lines generally have some holes somewhere that are rather large, as in not enough playmakers either on offense or defense.

You only have so much money under the cap and something has to give usually.

Our O line is patchwork at best but it's all we can really afford, not having one key draft pick work out hurts too.

Don't forget the botched Leinart pick just before Levi. You can't botch consecutive top picks like that in this league and expect to win a Super Bowl.

LOL

Ok you think that's a bad pick eh?

DG did it, so I'm betting you're very wrong, he'd make an awesome GM if he did nothing but draft but we'll see.

I agree with you unfortunitly so: Was takling to the Clancy P family today they told me that It came as a big surprise to Clancy when he was fired in the manner he was fired. Team called him in for a normal meeting and the first words out otf Whiz's mouth was to Clancy is "YOUR FIRED...!!!"

I really think that Whiz has an EGO problem, and will not admit that he is wrong by his actions but puts the blame on others.

Whiz is now a head coach not the person who should be calling all of the Offensive plays while managing the entire game.

Kurt is hurt and Whiz seems to not realize this it seems.
