Todd Haley's last year with us was the Super Bowl run in 2008. He was the Chiefs' head coach in 2009.

Here's the 2008 offensive depth chart:

QB - Kurt Warner, Matt Leinart, Brian S. Pierre
RB - Edgerrin James, Tim Hightower, JJ Arrington
FB - Tim Castille, Terrelle Smith
WR - Larry Fitzgerald, Anquan Boldin, Steve Breaston, Jerheme Urban, Early Doucet, Sean Morey
TE - Leonard Pope, Ben Patrick, Jerame Tuman
RT - Levi Brown, Elton Brown, Brandon Keith/Elliot Vallejo
RG - Deuce Lutui, Elton Brown, Brandon Keith
C - Lyle Sendlein, Al Johnson, Reggie Wells, Elton Brown
LG - Reggie Wells, Elton Brown, Brandon Keith
LT - Mike Gandy, Elton Brown, Brandon Keith

I bolded the only players from this Super Bowl offense still on the team. That's four guys out of about 22; one plays a different position now (RT to LT), and I doubt two of them are on the roster next year (Sendlein, Doucet). To those that I keep hearing on radio and on message boards suggesting "Todd Haley would be a great fit for the Cardinals because he's familiar with their offensive personnel and their weapons on offense," these people have no clue what they are talking about.

I'll take Todd Haley if he can call up his good buddy Kurt Warner and get him to come back to play QB. :D

Otherwise, pass.

On the plus side -

Parcells tree.

Warner.

On the minus side -

One thing that may have gotten Wiz fired was his caustic approach to dealing with Skelton and others. Why would we hire a replacement HC with the same reputation for being caustic toward his QB's.

He bombed in KC.

What does he know about defense (& who would he hire if Horton were to leave)?

He burns bridges too quickly.

If we can't get the best HC on the market (Reid). We should promote from within with Horton.

...because he wouldn't. He is neither a leader of men or an experienced coach with a history of success. This would be the mistake hire I have feared since we fired Whis.

What makes you say that?

I think that in the last few years he's just had so much on his plate.

It's been well stated that he's not a very good communicator with his players. Well organized professional yes. But you need more than that longer term now days.

He's had his good run, imo.

Just the fact that he could be interviewed is severely telling that Mikey has some flaws.

Horton is the guy. Mikey just needs to interview some other candidates that would be legitimately interested in the Cards job for negotiating leverage. And now our biggest negotiation patsy (Reid) may not give us the opportunity to use him.

:Strrrrrrrrrrrrrretching logic to make this move make sense:

If this is the case then you dont let Horton leave to be interviewed elsewhere and fool around with trash like Haley. JMO.

Another team could wow Horton after he WOWs them and offer him much more etc..... Pretty silly move IMO.

Saying things like "process" and "due diligence" can also be interpreted by others as "indecisive" and "without focus".

I am on board with the idea that if we cant get the best HC candidate on the board (Reid) then we should honor Horton by promoting from within. Going for this lunkhead would be our worst fears coming true.

Bidwill, Keim, & Haley is the epitome of staying the course but doing it in a worse way than what we had.

This might be the case but only for the wrong reasons. 1. We need to have leverage so we can pay Horton a very low salary. 2. Horton has already said our spot is his #1 wish.... Why would we piss on his cheerios if we are just "gaining leverage"?

Thats all I needed to see to be sold. Not to mention the fire he can light under our inept offense a#s! When the Cardinals fired their entire offensive staff - other then TE Coach Freddie Kitchens- I tweeted that I found that interesting because I recalled Haley really liking Kitchens a lot and wanting to bring him onto his KC staff but the Cardinals blocked it.

I'd be very happy with Todd Haley (or Andy Reid, or Lovie Smith) as Head Coach. I don't know enough about McCoy to get really excited yet.

Go Cardinals!

Looking at our receiving corps and QB it is no wonder we almost won the Superbowl. This may be the best group of receivers and QB on a Cardinal team ever. Oh for those days once again
