The top candidates are going to NY and Chicago respectively first Because of a higher pic, Eli and Trubisky to build around. I’d take Chicago over here because of a qb already drafted in Trubisky. Someone young would have to start completely from scratch and there is little glamor in this job. But it’s still better then the Browns lol
If anyone is building around Eli, they need their head examined.
As for the qb situation it can be a tricky thing. HCs have egos and want to pick their guys. Having a qb in place can be just as big a detriment for some as a recruiting tool for others. For example, if a coach doesn't think trubisky is a franchise qb then they arent going to Chicago
My only comment is do NOT hire a Patriots assistant. in general they have not done well which points to a few things, Belichick and Brady are the guys that make that team so good, not the assistants. Also, as McDaniels proved in Denver, a big part of the success in NE is based on the breaking of rules philosophy they have, Denver's owner and GM were so embarassed that McDaniels got caught cheating so soon after taking the job, they couldn't wait to get rid of him.
He's more experienced now but there's no reason to believe he's going to be good without a QB and frankly that's true of just about anybody we hire, so why hire someone with a proven history of breaking the rules?
Comments by NFLN round tablers seem to indicate that the Michael B and Steve K regime is solid and well-respectedIs this job an A+ landing spot compared to other openings? I hope so.
How good are your assistants, if you're asked to fire them?Munchak was asked to fire some assistants at Tenessese to keep his head coaching job. He refused and was let go. So he is a great character guy. And just like BA, he will be loyal to a fault.
Munchak may be the best OL coach in NFL. Has HC experience. And can pull in top assistants.
I am intrigued by Munchak.

All over NFLN today: AZ is sixth best option of the six openings because of the QB situation.I would think it's the best available opening at the moment
Not the NFLN I was watching. Michael Silver and Maurice Jones-Drew said it was maybe the 2nd best after NYG and maybe the best. Don't know what you were watching. All over NFLN today: AZ is sixth best option of the six openings because of the QB situation.

Charley Casserly said it multiple times on their Aftermath coverage throughout midday, with other talking heads agreeing.
I find it hard to believe that the FO doesn't have some kind of plan for this eventually. We fans may not like the how the plan works out in the short term but I doubt we're going into next season with the likes of Blaine Gabbert under center.
I’d agree, but if the plan was Eli, the Giants may have something to say about it. If the plan is offloading boatloads of draft picks to move up, a new coach may be wary of a bare cupboard. It will be the most fascinating offseason to watch unfold.
I could totally be off base here but I don't think it's a foregone conclusion that Palmer is done, a new coach notwithstanding. Fitz either for that matter.
What did he do to cheat?
Yeah, but long term they won’t be around like some stars on other teams with vacancies.
The patriots linebacker coach FloresWho are we bringing in for the Rooney rule?
Is that still in effect?
Offensive Minded Candidates:
Would make sense if the priority is developing a QBOF and an offense designed around RB David Johnson.
2. Todd Haley (PIT OC)---wants another chance to prove himself as a HC and was highly successful as an OC with the Cardinals. Has been highly productive in PIT, but reports of the continued tension between him and Big Ben are troublesome. The Cardinals would want to know what veteran QB Haley would want as his 2018 starter and who his choice for DC would be. Mike Pettine, the former CLE HC, could be hot choice for DC for a number of the offensive minded candidates. Would Haley be amenable to keeping James Bettcher as DC? Typically it is best for a new HC to hire his own staff.
