Jon Gruden officially Raiders coach. Good for him.
I still think that was a mistake...time will tell I guess...
Del Rio was doing a fine job, they just had a bad year all around. They need to dump Beast Mode, his antics cost them several times.

Gruden should have their offense clicking again in no time though.

Is it just me or is anyone else not very excited about ANY of these candidates? o_O

Yes. I would be happy with any of the 4. My preferences:

1. DeFilippo
2. Patricia
3. Shurmur
4. Munchak

I am also very intrigued with Steve Wilks and Brian Flores.

I guess I'm just not familiar enough with them all, I've been reading on them all and I see some good in them but nothing jumps out like a "That's the guy!!" type thing lol

Shurmur would be a great hire, IMO. Proven track record with QB's and offenses, in general. Wonder who his DC candidates would be...

So from Clayton's article, Shurmers a great QB guy, as. HQ was a fail..but he was in Cleveland and no one wins in Cleveland lol..so I see the appeal of him as a HQ as long as he can get the right coaches around him I would be good with him

I think surpassing TO will assist with that more than Shurmur will lol. I like Shurmur though, if you see the QB's he's worked with and see the success he's had with those QB's, it's encouraging. If we hire Shurmur do you think we retain any of the current coaching staff? I think Amos is gone for sure, but who do you guys think will end up staying?

Putting it a different way (i.e., the way we’ve heard it), Ball and McCarthy don’t have a good relationship. It’s a topic that was addressed on Thursday’s PFT PM podcast, as I tried to digest and understand McCarthy’s remarks.

Put simply, Ball has to want McCarthy, McCarthy has to want Ball. And McCarthy’s comments undoubtedly were a message to team president Mark Murphy that, if Ball gets the G.M. job, Murphy eventually may have to find a coach — either because Ball doesn’t want McCarthy or McCarthy doesn’t want Ball.

So keep an eye on this one. Murphy is smart enough to know the consequences of giving Ball the G.M. job. And the consequences quite likely will include the Packers needing a new head coach, either this year or next year.

McCarthy might be gone and added to the coaching pool for all the teams to choose from.

so hard to separate the Packers success: Rogers or McCarthy

on one hand, the Pack is always pretty good, but i always have a sense that the Packers underachieve a bit

I’d like to see them keep Brentson Buckner.

What happened to guys like David Shaw? There was a thread about possible replacements a month or two back.

David Shaw is an excellent college coach who has a GREAT job at Stanford. I would definitely be interested in him, but I believe he’s made it perfectly clear he’s not interested in a NFL job.
