Smart move, trading Morris for the sake of just trading him is a move that is only going to cost us.

It might be a smart move but not realistic. The Suns are trading from a position of weakness here. They might get a player in return but it won't be any player of consequence IMO. It's a foregone conclusion he isn't going to be a future Sun's player. Everybody in the league knows it.

More like his disdain for Jeff. A blind man could see he was dogging his play prior to Jeff leaving. Kieff probably thought: This is for for Marcus. FOE

I don't think this has anything to do with his disdain for Jeff, I don't think there is any.

Jeff had him in and out of the rotation. Jeff put the ball into the guards hand first and foremost and asked Bledsoe and Knight to carry them.

I think it is way too easy to say that Markieffs struggles were simply the result of ill-will towards Hornacek. Watson completely changed the offensive flow of this team, plays Markieff heavy minutes and lets him touch the ball consistently. None of that happened under Hornacek. Hornacek played Markieff, Leuer and Teletovic randomly depending on who he thought played well in that moment.

OK, he had disdain for Jeff's coaching style which made him and the other Power Forwards just faces in the crowd.

The Suns are not trading from a point of weakness. Kieff is under contract, a good contract, for a long time. They are not in tax range so they do not have to worry about the tax. They are out of the playoff picture, so wins aren't even a worry. It's the ultimate position of strength. The only worries would be if Kieff is unhappy, and right now they obviously don't give a rip about that. His pouting diminishes his value and so does the court case.

So,any team that wants him, probably wants him now. They need him for a playoff run. If they know the Suns are willing to wait , then they may up their offer.

It's not delusions. It's negotiating.

Marcus hated Jeff and Keiff followed suit. The arguements and towel throw along with his disappearing play is enough for me to believe. As I said prior, EW didnt have enough time to install his plays prior to his first game. It was freestyle basically. Again, nothing to do with EW. He didnt make Keiffs shots suddenly start to fall, go hard to the rim, ect...The fact is, Keiff turned on the switch once Jeff was fired. No other reason explains it. But you kinda have to watch the games to see it.

We shall see. I don't think any team is going to give anything of value. Meaning a high potential player or equal player in return. That would be "strength". Playoff teams don't make it a habit of giving up good players on their roster either unless they are really deep or unless said player upgrades the current position they are making the trade for.

I guess we shall see but I won't be shocked when we get generic player X in return or if he is still on the roster after the deadline. I am hoping it's more like last year when about an hour to go, teams went CRAZY. If that happens, anything is possible.

I do think "featuring" Kieff in the offense and giving him actual minutes helped. It was a combination of the two, Kieff finally was in the rotation again, and plays were being run for him, and Kieff used that moment to turn it on as well. However, it might not be about Jeff or Watson as much as the fact that the trade deadline was approaching and he knew he had to get his trade value up or there would be no trade.

Toronto trades #10(less favorable pick between Denver and New York to Phoenix)

Toronto gets Morris, Tucker and Goodwin
Orlando gets Knight, Scola and Bennett
Phoenix gets Hezonja, Frye, Patterson, #10

Orlando gets Brandon Knight (local Florida kid) for Hezonja and dumping Frye back on us. Knight is a better Oladipo, similiar age but already locked up for longer and more PG potential as Elfrid Payton struggles. Orlando can look to move Oladipo after this.

Vucevic
Gordon
Harris
Founier
Knight/Payton

Toronto gets Morris and Tucker but their own pick is too low to make the Suns bite and the NYK pick is too high, so the Suns add Goodwin to the deal and maybe the Cavs pick.

How is that return not good?

Suns roster going into next season

Len/Chandler
Patterson/Frye
Warren/Hezonja/Weems
Booker/Bogdanovic
Bledsoe/Price

+pick 1-5 and pick 10 and 1-2 picks in the 26-34 range.

Plus whatever the Suns could get out of Leuer/Teletovic.

I don't like Patterson or Frye. Thats all. I don't think either of them are starting caliber. If this trade went through, I would start Leuer or Tele. The pick is nice though. That might make it worth it. Could we switch Weems for Archie in the deal. I think they still like Weems in Toronto.

Same. I bagged on Frye when we had him about the same as I do Lenny. But one thing he does do is spread the floor with a outside chance of hitting a three. I coudnt imagine having Frye and Lenny on the floor the same time. I wouldnt have any hair left.:pullhair:

Good effort, just not that impressed with the return. I think I would rather keep Morris and Goodwin.

I think that the Suns do this deal in a heartbeat.

The Raptors probably would prefer to send James Johnson instead of Scola.

I would do each of the separate deals (Morris, Tucker, Goodwin for he NYK pick and Knight for Hezonja, Frye) as well.

Not sure that the Magic would target Knight with Oladipo and Fournier already at SG and the Raptors would trade a lottery pick for that package but both deals are close value-wise, IMO.

Oh, I think the Magic want Knight big time. They want a shooting, scoring 2. I agree about the value.

One contender who is not interested in Phoenix's Markieff Morris: The Toronto Raptors.

They have that in Founier.

Payton is not very good though and they are looking to trade Oladipo before they have to lock him up with a big extension.

I would rather trade Knight for Oladipo & Frye, if the Magic are interested in Knight. He could play alongside Peyton in Orlando plus Oladipo, Bledsoe, & Booker could share the court at the same time with Frye & Len/Chandler. Bledsoe & Oladipo are good rebounding guards, making up for Frye's lack of rebounding, Chandler is a legit rim protector & strong rebounder in his own right. With Frye & Booker behind the arc, Bledsoe & Oladipo should have plenty of room to penetrate, especially with Len on the floor instead of Chandler. I'm not saying that should be our starting 5 but being able to play all 3 of our guards together in spurts is something that will happen regardless of who the guards are. Oladipo would fit better as the 6th man backing up Booker & Bledsoe. When it comes time to extend him the Suns could do that as a 6th man also rather than paying him near max money, like Knight.

Oladipo is a worse version of Knight, you have no idea what you are talking about if you want Oladipo.

And I am afraid this is not how extensions work. Oladipo will sign a bigger offer sheet than Knight.

I think Knigt/Kieff would have been a better offer for the Harris unless the only thing Orlando is interested in is cap space.

Harris is a tweener in a bad way.

Knight and Kieff for Harris would have been incredibly bad for the Suns.
