Yeah, all we would need is to get 3 decent guys on the minimum. With those 3 there has to be a few vets willing to go ring hunting.
That's what I have been saying. We only need 6-8 good players. Most teams restrict their lineups anyway. You watch games in the playoffs and half the team never gets in.

So Paul has more value than Ayton?

xc_hide_links_from_guests_guests_error_hide_media

No. They have no interest in Paul they want the money that comes along with getting rid of Paul.

They are entering the rebuilding process. Bill Simmons talked about this he said the owner didn’t want to tank last year cause he wanted a round of playoff money

However, if Ayton had more value, he could easily be traded to another team for assets including draft picks.

I'd take The Unicorn for the MLE over Ayton on a max deal. I don't think Porzingis will see big money this off-season. He needs to rehab his image.
He's at a player option so he would opt in to be traded. No MLE

There is no planet I take "The Unicorn" over Ayton.

I was at that game, I went into it thinking that the dude was a putz, nothing more than a creation of New York media. He absolutely blew me away, the guy looked like Dirk but with All-NBA defensive talent. In person you couldn't miss anything he did. He was, obviously, huge, but he looked like Drago going to town on Apollo Creed.

That was messy Suns team and they did win that game (with 'The Unicorn' fouling out); but I came out of it thinking that Portzingis was rapidly on his way to being a top tier player. Instead he plateaued. He has had some bad injuries but he is still productive when healthy but his game hasn't grown at all since he was like 22.

Also... what a game from Tyson Chandler, that has gotta be his best game as a Sun.

Also, Also... I think Wemby will share KP's fate. He will tease with talent off and on, but he will perpetually struggle with leg injuries, basically everyone over 7'1" has found it virtually impossible to stay consistently healthy.

7.5 years is a long time ago on an NBA body, especially a 7'4 one. I would prefer him also if the trade came with a decent extension & Kuzma to play the 4. He is longer and most likely smarter than DA. DA is more athletic but why would that matter when DA refuses to use and and tends to play soft on the regular

Scoot is the win of this draft season IMO. Wemby will have numerous health issues IMO. You just cant carry enough weight on that body to be successful.

Ok so I just read the Athletic article on Beal.

It says the suns have two offers on the table, one centered around Ayton, and the CP3/Shamet one.

They say the Heat have offered Lowry and Duncan Robinson and some 1st rounders.

They then discuss which deal they think the Wizards should do, and say they think the Miami deal makes the most sense because of the picks, even though they may not be great, but they think it could turn into a 3 way deal with Indiana or San Antonio which could return the Wiz better picks.

Basically it sounds like the Wizards want to dump salary, but also want picks - but nobody knows for sure how much the new management values both.

If Beal is ok with either team, odds probably favor Miami because they have picks - and maybe even Herro - but they don't want to trade him. It sounds like we need Book and Durant to put the full court pressure on him to lean our way.

I disagree. Wemby has more potential than anyone ever. Just assuming he will get hurt because of his size is only looking at it negatively. The game has changed, and he doesn't even have to play center, you could keep him on the perimeter and have him play a Durant type game.

You could... and the Spurs will likely try that. But that nullifies most, if not all, of his defensive value, which is a good portion of why everyone is hyping him. It's pretty difficult to be a rim protector 20 feet from the rim.

Supposedly we get Beal for CP3 And Shamet. If there is no way we can unload Ayton, and Vogel works his magic, teams will be crying foul over our roster.
This is the only way i take on that contract - Beal for nothing other than that contract which isnt my money.

I dont know, you seen his feet? He is a freak, but his body is freakish, looks like fractures waiting to happen

If it is such a problem I really don’t think all the teams would be tanking for him and nobody has even suggested anyone else for the top pick. They have done medical exams you know.

Wemby is going #1 but there are examples of players his size having career shortening injury developments, big men are usually impacted more because size and quick movements put a lot of pressure on back, legs and feet. Yao Ming's troubles were due to his size and weight but Lisfrac injuries are something he may have to worry about, Chet Holmgren is around the same body size as Wemby so if he has foot issues they may not get better with time.

I'm sure if SA can get the same longevity and career as HOU got with Yao Ming they would be very happy taking Wemby even if his career ends before a decade.

Anyone ever? I haven’t seen anything remotely special about a defensive presence from the kid. He looks special offensively, but more potential than anyone ever is a step too far for me, personally.
