For many a year now I've taken the first week of training camp of from work and headed up north.

IMHO it's not as good with all the crowd. Especially that first weekend.

it may have been just the days I was there, but I miss being right up on the line. :(

But on the bright side there is so much media coverage that I can feel like being there minus the 3 hour trip. :)

Training camp is worse but having a stadium full of red on gameday makes up for it. I just went by the practice fields and the traffic seemed much worse than even last weekend. Obviously a much more intimate experience in the past. But like I said, I love having a stadium full of Cardinal fans

I voted worse because it was not as personal as prior years but it is also better to have a lot more fans supporting the team. It was so crowded today that my daughter and I head back home early today. Good news - there was no traffic coming home.

So would you trade a crowded training camp with a team that went to the super bowl with 5 pro-bowlers compared to the old 4-12 days when maybe you would get 500 people to go?

I completely understand how the camp is crowded. This is a good team loaded with talent and flagstaff is 20 degrees cooler than Phoenix with 2 weeks straight of 110+ temperatures. And it is FREE! What else would you expect?

The only thing I didn't like was that annoying sax player dude who asked my group if any one knew how to whistle because he wanted to start a new thing at games where instead of chanting the whole crowd could whistle a tune instead, a tune he made up by the way. I think he is brand new to the sax as well, sounded like he had only been playing for a week. I play the sax myself which made his playing all the more annoying.

This is my first trip to Flag, and to me it was great. Flagstaff was just swarming with Card fans. Everywhere I looked there was someone in a Warner or a Fitz, or a Boldin jersey. My son and I went out to the Red and White scrimage late and still managed a parking spot just a few hundred yards from the field. The buzz was fantastic at the practice facility, even if I couldn't snap off many good pictures because of the crowd.

Here is a few pictures of the crowd before the team hit the field for those who didn't get to make the trip.

I liked camp as much as always. I go up to spot the new kids on the team and liked what I saw. I did not go up for the Red And White deal. I love the big crowds. Around the league an any given day, you see 3-10k in attendance.Fans who have been following thier teams show up to camps. Our following does not have that deep root. THere is a sold out stadium oin red and that's great. It's when we have a bad run that will see how many show up at camp. As for new Cards fans, please keep on going.

These big crowds can be easily solved with a 5-11 season like we used to have every year in the bad old days. I'm hoping this is a problem we won't see fixed anytime soon. Not that I don't miss be able to skip out of work for an hour, drive over the camp, park at Kinsey and have the run of the place. You can't have everything.

That guy is horrible. He was playing behind the stands I was sitting at on Saturday (40 yd line) and everyone around us was telling him to stop. Makes zero sense

Maybe he and "horrible banjo guy" from SF should start a group?
I had the displeasure of sitting near that asshat years ago.

There wasn't a neutral or the same vote. That's probably what I would have selected. I went up Wednesday night and there was only a minimal crowd increase. I just love getting out of the heat and enjoying Cards football.

Its incredibly smoky up here this morning. The winds seem to have shifted and made it a little better but I'm sure they will be dealing with massive amounts of smoke from the Taylor fire. It doesn't look like it will be getting better any time soon. Bottom line, I'm thinking they may end up camp early. Hope it doesn't ruin anyone's plans. But if you've got plans to come up for this last week, I'd watch the situation very carefully.
