Hey, crisper?? Please break up your posts into paragraphs. 55 year old eyes with trifocals just can't focus after 5 or 6 unbroken lines of text. Thanks.

Wow, so much for that idea. I had no clue who this cat was, but now after reading this post, I hope he comes nowhere near us!

He's being looked at as a backup, guys. He just has measurables that intreast Whiz and Grimm. And some starting experince.

He's not going to be penciled in as a starter. Relax.

back up thus far

My only concern is that KC had some tackle problems, and ended up playing Kyle Turley (IIRC)

I doubt Black is the answer, but just to be fair.

Black was slated in as the answer at LT, but after the combo of Sampson and Svitek were terrible at RT, Black moved to RT and Turley played LT. (Turley weights like 270 lbs and was better suited at LT)

Whiz is doing EXACTLY what he said he was going to do and that was go after depth. Clearly people had different expectations. With guys like Holt, Hood and Fisher on their list it sounds like they are sticking to their guns.

At least we know that they have a plan in place and are trying to execute it. Now if they bring these guys in and they sign else where then we have a problem.

The Huddle Report.com rates Jordan Black as the 14-th best free agent tackle.

Building the belly of the team, everyone!

14th?!?

That isn't building the belly, that is wiping the hole!

You add depth when you have quality starters.

There is no way that you could convince me to stake my reputation as a HC on our current oline and a couple guys for "depth"...it's ridiculous and we have been down the same oline road for three or four years.

Overestimating the value of our oline is a fatal mistake that, if made again, will lead to another losing season no matter what else we do.

How about getting a starting OT first, then worry about depth...

The Cards are acting as if they believe they will re-sign Davis. I don't share the same confidence! :(

I just want to be clear about this: Kyle Turley started ahead of this turd in KC. Turley, who could barely move and showed up at about 260 pounds after major back surgery, was better than Black.

I disagree entirley, you add depth whenever you can. Because you never know when the injury bug is going to hit or when when one of your starters might stop performing.

He's not under estimating the line at all. How is adding to paper thin depth along the line a bad move, exactly?

Do you honestly believe that Whiz takes the line lightly when he has Russ Grimm as his asst HC? Come on now.

I, like you, am concerned about LT. But I'm not going to fault Whiz for trying to improve depth across the line.

Everyone of our current starters would be excellent depth guys(and are paid as such)...we need quality starters.

Depth is fine and good but you can't sign a back-up when you have no starter..that makes no sense...because before you know it that guy you signed as depth is starting and your depth is a rookie or NFL Europa(stupid name) guy. Then when your starter sucks or gets injured you are up the proverbial creek.

That is simply not true. Leckey, Brown, Duece and Wells all played well as a unit at the end of the year.

We can't gamble on the draft...we need to use FA/trades.

It's no more of a gamble than paying mediocre free agents a boatload of money and hoping they start playing like stars. Which is exactly what we'd be doing with guys like Pashos.
