Counting on Q

I know I have said many times that I have no doubts that Anquan Boldin, despite all the contract issues swirling around him this offseason, will show up for training camp. I still believe it, even though I suppose you can't know for sure until Wednesday when players have to appear for a night meeting in Flagstaff. Nevertheless, Q was in Florida this weekend for an event at alma mater Florida State, and in a benign Q-and-A, did answer how he thinks the Cardinals will do this year thusly: "For us, we have to pretty much stay healthy as a team. Last year I think we did pretty good, but we had too many starters go out with season-ending injuries. That's the one thing you can't predict. If we can take that away, I think we can be pretty good."

Lots of "we" in that answer. Doesn't sound like a guy who is planning on anything else but a full training camp. Add in those glass-half-full words from his agent last week, and, hey, we'll all be positive about this getting resolved. UPDATE: Apparently, we don't have to wait any longer, since Drew Rosenhaus told Kent Somers that both Boldin and Darnell Dockett will show at camp.

I didn't comment on any of this over the summer because I thought they'd show up. We won't know until Wednesday, but it seems all the talk about them holding out was just their agent's way of letting the Cardinals know they players want new deals. I'll be shocked if Q does have a new contract by December.

Seems like the NFL is starting to ignore Drew's threats.

That's only 3 wins over the first 6 games Rugby. Are you really satisfied with that?;)

Goal 1- win the division, something we haven't accomplished since 1975.

goal2- win another playoff game.

goal 3- dance thru the confetti with the Vince Lombardi Trophy!!!

Raise the bar Rugby, I expect at least the first 2 to get accomplished THIS season!!!

Our second half schedule is brutal. We need a hot start, less than 4-2 would be very poor. I know teams talents change from year to year, but winning opening week in San Fran and then taking care of the Dolphins at home in week 2 I view as a must. Then we'll look at the rest of the season.

I'd say that's a very reasonable and attainable goal.
