With NBA facilities opening today, Nash, Lopez and Dowdell were the first to show up at US Airways Center. They will likely be joined by Grant Hill, Channing Frye, Hakim Warrick, Josh Childress, and Markieff Morris on Friday. Dudley tweeted he will join them Monday. Not sure about Gortat. And I would not expect Pietrus until training camp.

Participating in voluntary workouts so far were Nash, Lopez, Dowdell, Childress, Frye, Hill, Gortat, Dudley, Morris, Warrick and Siler. As expected, Pietrus the only one under contract (excluding Carter) to not show up. Lawal also not there, but the Suns may let him go before season starts.

Perhaps another draft pick to hit the dust. It seems he signed with a Polish Club back in September although he had an opt out.

I didn't see anything about this in the article. Is it just speculation on your part or have you come across this elsewhere? Not that it's a big deal but we have so little to look forward to so I'm always hopeful that one of our lesser regarded players turns out to be a diamond in the rough.

I read about it as well. Perhaps it was edited or I read it somewhere else. If I find the link I will post it.

That's good enough for me. I just didn't know whether Griffin was saying it had been reported or if he was just speculating. It's too bad though. I didn't expect much from him but I couldn't help hoping.

I don't remember if I actually read anything specifically to that effect, but it seems a strong possibility because the Suns hold an option on the second year of his contract and he didn't look good at all in D-League before getting hurt last season. If the Suns keep both Dowdell and Siler and sign a free agent and with the addition of Morris that leaves Lawal as the odd man out (unless the Suns carry more than 13 players or can unload Pietrus).

Makes sense. Does anyone know how he's doing in Poland?

Well, according to his Wiki page, he is averaging 16.5 ppg (62.7% fg), 11.7 rpg, 1.4 bpg in 30.6 minutes per game (10 games).

Thanks, I never think to go to Wiki for things like this. I'm not sure how those numbers stack up for the league he's playing in but they look pretty solid from here.

Lawal's waived, so that settles that. Pietrus and Carter are gone too. And today both Brown and Telfair joined the Suns for pickup games, which is good to see since official training camp practices won't start until tomorrow night.
