It will be interesting to see if the Cardinals take off-ball LBs and CBs late in the draft. Normally these are positions where you can get some special teams value but it is tough to see how any late round rookies at these positions would be able to beat out these vets and be worth a roster spot.

JFC, signing so many special teams only players we won't have any room for actual rookie special team contributors. Or we're actually counting on these "special teams aces" to play meaningful minutes. Or we're just signing guys to cut guys. None of them speaks to a high-level brain trust in our FO.
You have to get to 90 somehow. I think they are still under 70, so adding 10 draft picks still leaves more UDFA's to sign.

Stash them on the practice squad for the inevitable injuries. Nothing wrong with having depth even on special teams.

We don't need more special teams players, though. There's no good outcome to signing a kajillion special teams specialists and then drafting a bunch of kids whose best shot is at special teams. At best the draftees stick and you have to cut the ones you already signed, at a loss.

I'm seeing a plan, but the problem is, I'm seeing a pretty bad plan.

I wonder if they might try Kris Boyd at another position.

He's always played outside corner with very limited snaps but all the positive talk about his play seems to point to him being an aggressive tackler with an eye for the ball.

I wonder if they might try him at slot or try him at safety where our depth is none existent. At a hair under 6ft and at 200+lbs with 4.45 speed he has the size and tendencies to switch to safety.

Gannon did something similar with CGJ last year. Maybe this is his dollar store version. And he has formations where he uses 3 safeties.

I don't see any plan so far
The plan is the 2020 Houston Texans plan. Sign a bunch of replacement-level players to very short-term and hope your draft picks blossom into high-level starters.

You’ll lose a lot of games but gain a lot of job security because you’re always one draft away from finishing the job.

"As a corner, he has a career 127.1 QB rating allowed (identical for 2022)"

Well, we know he can't play corner, so anything else might help!

May I suggest off-ball linebacker?
At least we didn't blow a first on a WR we'll have to pay big bucks to retain in the last draft!
Not yet. Are there any disgruntled receivers out there besides ours?
