...will get just that, and ONLY that. This team has only a slim chance to advance in the playoffs, because of home field advantage. I doubt we will, but it's possible. This team has ZERO chance to make the NFC championship game. ZERO, NONE, and anyone who thinks they do has absolutely zero knowledge of pro football. This team is a fraud. We've been angry all season that we haven't gotten enough credit, because people were saying we'd win the division only because it was the NFC West. That's exactly the only reason we're going to end up winning it. We'll probably clinch this weekend because San Fran will probably lose. Sad.

Carolina, N.Y. Giants, Washington...at home and on the road. We beat the Cowgirls at home, yeah. That's why we have some shot of beating a playoff team at home in the 1st round. It's also why we have ZERO shot of winning past that.

We're obviously not getting the #2 seed, so we won't have a 2nd home game. Let's take our meager gain and hopefully have a great offseason. Fire Clancy, shake some sense into Haley, bolster the O-line, cull the defensive fat, be aggressive in FA and the draft, and get Leinart in there so we can have a more balanced game. A daunting offseason task, to be sure, but a much brighter future than we've had before.

Ok. Great. They shouldn't even play the rest of the season. We all know what will happen now ...

they are clearly not a primetime team... we barely got by on MNF and were completely humiliated tonight.

This team's stock is like the housing market the past 5 years...grossly inflated. We are now watching the bubble burst.

This team is losing because of this garbage defensive unit..

I would spend nearly every draft pick upcoming on the defensive side of the ball

What, we should be doing cartwheels instead? Facts are facts--we aren't that good. We're a middling team in an awful division. Can anyone dispute that at this point?

How about we just refer to this thread as refresher on your prognostication skills?

http://www.arizonasportsfans.com/vb/f4/why-well-crush-philly-124013.html

So I'm not allowed to be negative OR positive? Care to give me an alternative then?

So I've been a believer. So I tried to have some faith in my team, so I was fooled by this mockery of a playoff team. So I cared. So sue me. Trust me, I will NOT be picking a win vs either the Pats or the Vikes, so you won't have to worry about my overly positive attitude any more. Perhaps aj 'nostradamus' cardfan can do better?

Can you tell I'm not in the mood for personal mockery? If not, I can write an acidic response for you.

No - not after tonight's game. We depend too much on the pass, have no run game, and need to improve the fundamentals of our defense.

However, given the last four years of DG before the Whiz era - we are making progress. We are getting better. This year we will go to the playoffs.

And I'm happy with that. I'm happy to stop wondering in the desert after a 10 year dry spell, and it's been 33 years since our last division title. Superbowl? Not yet - but we'll continue to improve.

Sorry the team, or I, hurt your feelings. I just hope you are as accurate about the predicitions you made for the rest of the season as you were about the Eagles game. I didn't mean to offend.

I wish I were wrong, but sadly I think we can all honestly agree that I'm probably right.

I'm happy. I've been a fan since 1960 and have never seen the Car*s play at home in the post season. I'll be ecstatic when they clinch the division.

Nobody gave the Car*s even a snowball's chance to advance in '98.

So what if our team has huge flaws? Getting to the post season is what the NFL is all about.

We have a HUGE probablility of winning our first round HOME game. We have a very outside shot of winning our second round and going to the NFC title game.

Good lord, 5 years ago you would have laughed me off the board for posting that, yet today people probably agree for the most part.

Yup. Its all about matchups in the playoffs. If we face teams that rely heavily on the run and tries for big plays in their passing games (ie Dallas), we have a good shot. Its the teams that dink and dunk us to death that have been the problem for us.

As pissed as I am about this loss, I'll live with it knowing full well anything can happen once you get there. If we lose our first home playoff game since 48 and first division title since 75, so be it.

Going to the playoff is great. But man, winning the division by default because we are in a sucky division is something to think about. It's so painful to watch this team.

Look I've watched this team for a long long time, some years just beating the Cowboys was enough to make me happy.

This team is too talented to be this awful.

I can take a lot, I can take close losses that are hard fought, I can take bone headed player mistakes.

Watching your coaching staff get it's head handed to them on a plate is just the same old Cardinals.

Nothing will ever change until that stops happening.

Give me this coach and this team this year over any other we've had since moving here in 1988. I'm fairly encouraged and believe things will continue to improve.

Why does so many of the posters here not get this?

Yes sir. It was much more fun watching the Seahawks win the division the last 4 years.

That is where many of the "darksiders" lose perspective. We are progressing into a good football team. We are not in the elite group although many were trying to put us in that class over the last couple of weeks.
When the pundits start to put us in that group, it makes reality hurt a little and thus we all must endure the darkside explosion.
