I hesitate to bring this up but curiosity is getting the better of me.

I have heard a lot of rumors during free agency but I can't remember hearing michael floyd's name once. Did I miss something or is he just done in the NFL?

Wasn't he in jail during the start of the free agency period?

He might still be in tent city. Once tent city done he is on house arrest. Combine that with how bad he was last year, he will at best get a vet minimum contract with a team.

He has some house arrest time to do. Probably not allowed to do much while under court orders.

He's stuck in AZ for house arrest. I bet if Cards signed him, though, a judge would approve work release...lol

Yeah, but he has an agent....and a phone. I haven't even heard a rumor that a team MIGHT be interested in him.

Would you be interested in a guy who could barely even play for the entire season, got a DUI and is sitting in jail?

I wouldnt even take him for the vet minimum, rather draft someone.

I agree and to be clear, I'm not surprised he hasn't signed. I am just a bit surprised that we haven't heard ANYTHING. I figured that some team (most likely NE) would take a flyer on him for the league min. Just to bring him into camp and see what he has.

Just thinking about it now I imagine him sitting in tent city convinced that Bidwill, Keim and BA are blackballing him to other teams.

First, do you really think that the Cardinals would be that vindictive?

Second, Floyd got the best possible second chance when Belichick took a chance on him. We all saw how that turned out.

Michael Floyd has a serious problem, and until and if he is able to fix himself, he is not worth a damn to anyone else, let alone any team. I hope for his sake that Floyd figures it out and is able to become a better man. But unless he does, I am not one bit surprised that he isn't getting any attention.

I didn't say that is what I believe. It is what Floyd believes....because, you know, can't be his fault, right?

I don't see why you would go back to that. It isn't like he was producing at a high level last year when he had his issues.

"Floyd's sentence included 120 days in jail -- of which he has to serve 24 in jail and 96 as home detention -- $5,115.99 worth of fines and fees, admittance to a court-directed alcohol-education program and 30 hours of community service." < --- per ESPN

There is no rush to sign a role receiver who you can't work out or have undergo a NFL level physical til June.

The Patriots inactivating him for the conference championship game and the Super Bowl really devalued him.

Floyd & Kaepernick will be sitting on their asses this fall. Karma's a bitch.

lol I think his value was shot long before that. I imagine the heads of these programs had the same reactions to him kissing the trophy and calling himself a champion too.

Last thing I saw from Floyd was a pass go off his hands, and into the hands of a defense men.

That, and being so drunk in his own car that he couldn't string two words together.

........and Dont'a Hightower is currently the 2nd highest paid ILB in the league.

Michael Floyd was brought in to be Fitzgerald's successor. He failed on all accounts. A huge bust of this team, HUGE.

While I dont think it will happen, nor think it should happen, it wouldn't surprise me to see Keim and Michael B reevaluate the Floyd situation and consider bringing him back.

Why do you think they'd change their minds? He isn't good and they cut ties with him for a definite reason beyond on-field play. I don't think they'd consider it.

Reasons I think the team would consider reevaluating Floyd:

1) He knows the offensive system, so there wouldnt be any transition period
2) He has strong relationships with the players in the locker room
3) He would be cheap
4) He is a possession receiver, which would technically fill a position of need

Of course, that would be contingent on if he's genuinely remorseful and has sought help for his addiction. I personally cant trust him because of his terrible season last year and off the field issues, but that doesn't mean the team doesn't feel the same way.

The vibe I got listening to the buzz that surrounded the incident was that the Card FO had been waiting to see or hear stuff from Michael that suggested commitment/sense of urgency. My impression was that they waited in vain.

The team made it quite clear how it felt. I seriously doubt, even if he somehow way, way belatedly shows some kind of remorse, that BASK changes their minds.
