Can you guys suggest some big men who may be available that we can possibly acquire? Not for a win now mode but in the event we start trading away Nash, J-Rich and go younger, who can we possibly acquire?

Last year's Robin Lopez would be good. Something isn't right with him. I an suspicious of another injury.

We need a defensive, rebounding, shot blocking type with enough offense to keep the opposition honest. Thing was that they were being moved last summer--Okafor, Tyson Chandler etc.

We might try to find a young, underutilized big on a team with a number of them.

Heh, that's the same move Stoudemire has relied on for years. Griffin is one of the few that hadn't seen it yet.

Andray Blatche or Serge Ibaka....

Yea Thompson is my favorite option.

I like him more than Josh Smith cause Thompson isn't a head case like him. SAC is desperate to deal him for a SF....their trying to play the 6-10, 250 lb Thompson as their SF...

He's on the market for sure cause they offered him to Atlanta for Teague but they said no cause they already have enough big men.

He may not be the head case Smith is but he's nowhere near the player Smith is either. Smith is a superstar on his good days and a decent player on his bad days. Jason Thompson is a decent player on his good days and slightly below average on his bad days. If we're ignoring salaries there's just no comparison between these two guys.

There are 3 big men out there on the trade block who could help PHX right now.

Jason Thompson, James Johnson and Brendon Haywood.

Maybe even Bradon Wright but he is like a more athletic Earl Clark so idk about him.

I'd take any one of the first three mentioned. Can any of our hundred wings get the job done? I liked what I saw in Barron tho tonight.

With the exception of Hill & Childress, all our other wings do is wait behind the 3pt line for the ball to come to them.

Richardson is probably the best rebounder on our team which is very shameful.

I don't know about that. In this, our initial game with the new chemistry of Warrick starting at PF . . . and Barron getting time as the backup C . . .

JRich had 10 rebounds in 36 minutes
Warrick had 9 rebounds in 27 minutes
Barron had 7 rebounds in 9 1/2 minutes

Our horrible shooting to start the game vs. Denver reflects the new combination. As they used to it, I hope that Warrick gets more than 27 minutes at PF and that Barron gets the opportunity to play all of the backup minutes at C. He showed some good moves tonight.

Our rebounding numbers are shrewd. The fact that the Suns DID NOT play defense in the whole 2nd half gave the Suns a rebounding edge cause Denver never really missed. Before the 4th QTR; we got owned on the boards.

And not to forget we lost the rebounding #s to the Nuggets who were playing WITHOUT MELO & K-MART.

I was laughing when the Suns couldn't even get a freaking board when Nene missed both FTs.

Haha, right before that I told my bro that Frye would be out of position and he'll give up the offensive rebound. Low and behold... It came true.

I really like Jason Thompson, but Brendan Haywood's contract is terrible and I want no part of that.

Who cares about his contract. Him being a BEAST on defense and on the boards is worth a lot by itself.

We haven't had a guy who's able to get boards, play defense and not slow down the offense in a LONG time.

I prefer Thompson as well but right we just need ANY rebounding and defense guy.

In a van...down by the river.
I don't have an answer for this.
I will say that i think (as a franchise) you need to first recognize your weaknesses. The SUNS have gathered some bigmen over the years(much like one would gather firewood in the Sahara) but seem to have come up empty for the most part(as have quite a few teams). Amare was a success as a bigman IMO despite his defensive shortcomings.

The thing is,IMO the SUNS must remained focused on this truism of having to play with a legit bigman to succeed, and make things happen in trades,FA and the draft. Pump up the scouting for late rd picks and get aggressive in the draft if there's a guy they really believe in.

I liked Troy Murphy for us before the season began...i also thought that an old guy like Kurt Thomas would've helped counter our soft interior.
Many of you are touting J.Thompson, i think it's a viable option and a step in the right direction, but where will he get minutes in this offense?

If you cant draft a Jordan,Kobe or LeBron, you can't chase titles without a bigman and decide to simply rely on jump shooting and athleticism. Dead horse beaten.

The Suns front office, that's who. My guess is you have no idea what his contract actually is.
Yea close to $7 MIL a year.

But considering what he can do for this team, it sounds like a good deal.

You wanna know why Dallas is so good?

They don't hesitate to pay guys. Both Butler and Chandler make $12 MIL a year. Marion makes $7 MIL a year, and even Terry makes $10 MIL a year.

Nowitzki makes $17 MIL a year.

Suns have to stop being so stingy.

Do you know how long that contract is, and how old Haywood is? He might be nice this year, but he's not going to get us a championship and we'd be sorry we traded for him in a year or two.
