I hear a lot of bitchin and moaning from everyone, but after watching that game today, what can possibly be done? Coaches, players, who do you keep and who do you get rid of. I know I thought this team would be a lot better this year. There are flashes of brilliance, but the self destructive tendencies overshadow them. We picked on the defense and special teams last week. This week, they were adequate but our great offense from last week self-destructed.

So back to my original question----Where do we start to try and fix this team and what do we do?

By months ago i meant FA. We could have got thorton, coleman, wilkinson, milloy, traded for hand. The list goes on and on. On offense we could have not gotten smith, signed tai, and pick up shaun king or jaime martin to back up blake. So many thing we could have dont with so much money but nothing was done.

This isn't Madden for Xbox here. You can't just sign whoever you want. Graves went after guys like Colvin, Holliday, and the like. Maybe they just didn't want to come here. We're going to have to be like the Rams before we get alot of free agents wanting to come here. We're going to have to get lucky, have a good year, and then we'll be OK.

or maybe we will have to get someone in here that NFL players respect and believe in - that goes for Coach and GM.

How are you saying that as a fact? Bryan Johnson's mistake today led to seven points - he dropped a touchdown last week and dropped another one in the back of the endzone today (granted that would have been a ncie catch). As far as Pace - he looked great in the preseason - but no sacks and getting beaten on pretty good by Seattle today doesn't make him look great. Hayes isn't on the field - we haven't seen what King can really do - I mean just because some of these guys are on the field doesn't mean the draft was automatically a good one - I think that speaks more for our failure in free agency than anything else. Wait until the year is over at least to say that we had a good draft - because at this point all we really have to hang our hat on is one awesome game by Q - however even with him -he has caused two turnovers in two games.

Who the heck knows what the problem is.

It could just be bad luck I mean the interceptions and breaks have all gone the wrong way.

You have to admit some of the stuff happening so far is pretty much a fluke and it is totally one sided.

I believe you make your own luck, however to some extent you'd have to say they haven't caught one break.

Before I get shredded for this please understand I blame the coaches and players too but please don't try and tell me the God's of luck haven't had some fun here lately you have to admit it to some extent.

They move the ball but some goofy things have happend, like I said before if you see a game where they win the turnover battle and lose the game then you have a sucky team if you have 10 turnovers and you only lose 38 to nothing you aren't doing that bad really.

The new offense seems to be solid from a strategic standpoint they hung in the Detroit game well but again until you see a game where we at least break even on turnovers you cannot tell how good or bad the team really is.

Fair but still you can tell it's talented production in the first year for any rookie on a team like this will be spotty at best. I think Johnson Pace King and Boldin are all going to be good maybe they need new coaches?

Fire Mac and fire every defensive coach that we have as well as special teams. Try to bring in some FA scraps for the DLine and DB.

I agree with that - I just thought it was way premature to call this a "good" draft already.

Just look at the bright side, after looking at today's game we will have one of the top three draft picks.

Well she's just being positive which isn't fashionable right now I see your point though but jeez let us have something :)

When I look for things to blame I look at whats been here in charge the longest other than Bidwill... that's obvious and not going to change anyway so I have given up on that one.

Mac and his staff have been here forever and through some weird goofball bad decision making have been allowed to stink up the place forever.

I would defend Mac all day if I could point to one game I felt we won because we outcoached the other teams staff. I cannot honestly remember one. I really can't even remember one he lost and still outcoached or even pulled even with the other staff. He came close in St. louis and I remember one good half against the Broncos other than that he always gets out coached.

This is just my opinion I cannot prove it but he dosen't seem to qualify as even a mini itty bitty has some potential guru. He just cheers a lot. I am sure the team would like less cheering and more solid plans. Talent wise and injury wise he could have been dealt a better hand but even when they all get out there in wins he looked shaky at best.

Graves is gonna fire him if things stay this way so I say wait and see what kind of staff he brings in. To judge a GM you need a year or two and he needs to be able to pick his own staff. He was willing to give these guys one year but statements like this team is good enough for 8-8 just means he wasn't going to tolerate this which I think is good.

It doesn't matter who they bring in. As soon as a player signs a Cardinal contract he grows ten thumbs and two left feet.

The Cardinals don't need a new coach they need an Exorcist.

The best off season move they could have made would have been to bring in a busload of rabbit's feet.

There is a rumor that Murphy used to play for the Cardinals.

Network color analysts and play by play people are told to prepare to say "shooting themselves in the foot" at least 10 times during every Cardinal broadcast.

There's always some cynic who says there is no such thing as luck, that luck is when preparation meets opportunity. If they're right then the Cardinals have been unprepared for 30 years and opportunity remains a stranger. Others say it's just chance, well the Cardinals have never had a chance except when Jake had the ball behind by 2 with two minutes left.

They don't even get any respect from Rodney Daingerfield.

But they'll get their 5 wins and I want to be watching when they do. As for the other 11 games, well after 43 years of Cardinal follies I've finally learned to laugh about it.

And when the Cards finally win a Super Bowl...well my son has promised to bring a copy of the newspaper headline and put in on my grave.

See you Sunday.

Start with eliminating mistakes. If we eliminate ours (and there were many) we'd have been in both games.

This means returning to ball handling fundamentals, drilling guys on snap-counts, screaming at the QBs in the film room to throw the freakin' ball away if there's nothing there, making sure our safeties are in position to help out corners, knowing what to do when 2 of our guys are covering a receiver, practicing plays and ball handling reps ad nauseum into the early dawn if necessary.

Second, return to a more Parcells-like shell that stresses ball possession, clock management and field position. We don't have the talent on either side of the ball yet to play Martz-style "firehouse" football.

Finally - and I say this with slight sarcasm - a great deal has been said about the focus on bringing in "character guys" to play on this football team. Well, things aren't going to improve because someone waved a magic wand. These so called character people are going to have to reach deep inside themselves, suck it up, play inspired football and pull themselves out of the quagmire all by themselves.

That, alone, will be the true measure of whether the guys we've brought in have true character and grit.

That's 43 years for both of us but you might be a little optomistic.
Better have your grandson put that paper on your grave.
