Emmitt may be on his last leg but he still has alot left on the field to give. What other RB for Az. has generated such attention? Give me a break. Marcell got hurt in practice today, now Emmitt looks better already.

Emmit looks better already? I guess you didn't watch Emmitt last year or the year before that - Emmitt's 2.7 million dollars being sued to get a better back-up running back would look better than he does - hell I'd rather have Josh Scobey in there than Emmitt - the guy is done - was done two years ago and we made a mistake - move on.

Oh - and as far as Shipp - I sued to be a big supporter of his - but did he really get hurt again? I have a feeling we're gonna have new RB next season - Shipp just ain't special unofrtunately - he's a decent back - but he ain't leading us anywhere I fear.

I grew up hating the Dallas Cowboys. Emmitt was always something special to me somehow. My brother loves the Cowboys and now laughs at Emmitt. I always pictured Emmitt in red and white, it finally came true....too late I'm afraid. I'll still stick up for him. Go Cards.

Signing Emmitt was a huge mistake in judgement by the Cardinals. They thought he could be used to sell tickets ...to cowpuke fans.

If the Cardinals had clue one, they would have realized that Cardinal fans hate ANY cowpuke player. We only hate cowpuke FANS, worse.

Signing Emmitt was a slap in the face to all loyal Cardinal fans, while trying to embrace the very fans we hate, in our own stadium.

The only saving grace in this whole debacle, is that cowpuke fans didn't like Emmitt in red either.

Emmitt is at least helping the young running backs? Great, at a salary higher than Dennis Green?

Now we're stuck with him. If he wasn't a future Hall of Famer, he'd be gone already.

Ding! Ding! Ding! Ding! Someone give Lex a prize for a post that absolutely can't be refuted and should end this non-topic.

I happen to be a Card fan who enjoys Emmitt. Where were you during the St. Louis years? I live 72 n. of St, Louis. Hearing you guys bitch and moan about Big Red football makes me sick. you all are so lucky to have Cardinal football and a new stadium. Green is the coach now, be happy, I am.
Cheese beef?...cheesedick

Last year we were 4-12. Without Emmitt we would have been 4-12. Now go buy your L. Davis jerseys.

agree, but what a disaster that whole thing turned into. It was mishandled from the start.
True, but that wasn't Emmitt's fault. As to what he thinks about Dallas all one has to do is go find the article Jo wrote warly in last years preseason.

Black-

Please.

Where was I during the St. Louis years? You mean EIGHTEEN YEARS AGO?

Speaking for myself, I didn't follow the Cardinals at all, till 18 years ago, but even back then, I hated the cowpuks.

We don't call them the "Big Red" that would be Nebraska football.

St. Louis Cardinal fans telling us "how it is," bugs me. They've been the Arizona Cardinals since before the turn of the century for crying out loud.

Settle down buddy. Some people just have no respect for class and dignity. It's not what have I done, but what can you do for me right now. Emmittt should be given respect because he tried his damndest to help this organization. His heart was in the right place and he truly thought he could help this organization reach respectability.

I hope that with this new coaching staff, his wish will come true this year.

I dont let message boards piss me off anymore. Thanks anyway. Emmitt is a class act, so much so, it makes me wonder why the Cards didnt move to Sacremento where they would've been appreciated no matter what. I just wish I had millions I would buy the BIG RED and put them where they belong....In St. Louis. Screw the Rams and their fans too.

There's a few Chicago Cardinal fans about. I'm sure they'll be happy to read this.

Or we should have traded up and taken Kevin Jones (I love how Skkorp said that this was a non-story when someone tried to post a thread about this a week ago). Marcel Shipp is toast--T-O-A-S-T--after this season. If the Lions hadn't moved up, he'd be toast this season. It's only a matter of time.

McAddley would have made a solid #3.

We ALL love the Cardinals here, whether we agree with their moves or not, and regardless of where we live.

Personally I like having Emmitt, but certainly not at that price tag. In that respect I think his signing was a mistake, but that's certainly not going to prevent me from burning my ass on the bleachers come September, just like about everyone else here.
Cheesebeef made the trip from LA three times last season, that's about 36 hours of travel to go see his team. I think he's earned the right over the years supporting this team to voice his opinion on a free agent signing without being called a cheesedick.
Just my humble opinion.

Wiz, I hope this addresses your questions as well:

I agree that is was not emmitts fault. Sort of. In my opinion, If he had not been running his mouth about a "diamond surrounded by trash", Roy Williams would not have taken that vicious shot that sidelined him for a month. Burning bridges = real real bad.

That said, I still believe Emmitt is a class act, who DID have something left in the tank to give for last year. But last season was such a disaster, including his injury, that we'll never be able to quantify just how much WAS in the tank. Now E is a year older, and I really think its questionable if he can still play at a level that a playoff team needs its starting running back to play at.

IF we would have had decent coaching AND a healthy offensive line all year, AND E would have stayed healthy all year, I honestly, and firmly believe that E could have gotten 1200 yards.

Those of you who have the 2003 Viking game on tape, go to about the end of the first quarter, when the cards went on the long 12-13 play field goal drive. ABout the 6th or 7th play, E caught a little screen pass, made a couple of moves, and 39 yards latter, he got up a gave a warriors yell at the sky that I'm sure shook the bleachers at SDS.

But time is the great equalizer, and I fear that it has caught up with E.

BLACK,

my initial impression of cheese was similar to yours. He takes an intolerable line sometimes. However, 11 is right, over the last 1100 some odd post, cheese has proved to me that he is down with the cards. If you stick around, you'll see what im talking about. And try not to call other posters a dick at least until you get over 100 posts. :D

Be cool, because, this is the greatest cardinals board on the net. Its not even close. longtimers (or out of towners as we are sometimes referred to) like you and me live in peace with the locals. Trolls (and jack@sses) are quickly identified and banned. Plus, we get special info because a trainer and some media types post here regularly. Try introducing yourself with a new thread. You'll get a good response.

Shipp is not hurt. He took the whole practice today. I don't know who starts these rumors, but they should really get a life.

McAddley sat out practice today. Fitzgerald made a fingertip catch in the corner of the enzone in 11 on 11 drills today. :D

Nuh uh, I heard that they're busy packing up their gear for the big move to St. Louis. You know, where they belong.

If I remember it correctly I think that skkorp was saying it was a non story because it had already been reported. Obviously it was a story.

I disagree. Roy Williams will try to knock anyone out of the game. He is one of the best at his position. He is a headhunter...a monster...flat out. I don't think he would have let up if Emmitt didn't run his mouth.

Yeah, and we would've had Preston Parsons as our #2 with you in charge. I liked Jackson too, but I'll take what we have over that any day. McAddley as a #3? Now, that is a wing and a prayer!
