I bet he wouldn't agree to dump Grimm and give up personnel control. He probably didn't want to hire an actual OC as well.

GUARANTEE That is why he was fired.

Notice we haven't heard report of Ray jumping any planes to Clevenland or Philly. He'd be there already. Unless...

First one is simple enough. The other two...I don't know.

If Jurecki is right and they are willing to spend big bucks on an OC then they could easily get Norv, the QB will be the hard part. Be nice to have some new eyes.

I am not optmistic in how this plays out. In my opinion there are more opportunties for the Cardinals to end up worse after the dust settles than there are for them to be better. We will see.

That's because we're card fans and we know history says the Cards can find a way to screw anything up.

I'd hope if the plan is to promote Horton, they got him to agree BEFORE they fired Whiz.

Agree....it's not as simple as just promoting Horton and signing a high-caliber OC.

There are more high profile jobs out there, including San Diego.

Interesting to see how it plays out, history tells us when there are a lot of job openings, currently 7, the Cards are probably not going to get their pick of the litter.

My guess is they did it now so they can try and lock up Horton before someone else tries to get him.

This is probably the only reason this happened so fast...I'm shocked at the speed this happened....

that's my guess as well. i didnt HATE Wiz as the head coach, but i had a problem with him having too much control over player personnel. His choices are the reason we are in the position we are in. And IF he refused to give it up, there was no choice but to fire the guy.

Chicago or San Diego for Whisenhunt I think. Lovie Smith will go to Buffalo. 4-3 defense built to win that underachieved.

Chicago would want an offensive mind why sign Whiz when he did the same things as Lovie? And I would be shocked if anyone but Andy Reid was the coach of the chargers.

Mikey has a plan, no one cans everybody without a plan man. I don't know what this plan is but I know it isn't to have the worst offense for 4-5 years running. :D Love me some Mikey right about now.

Yep, preciously what I said would happen. Hopefully it works out for us & they truly believe that Horton is THE RIGHT GUY at the RIGHT TIME!!! Kinda scary & rarely works with a guy with zero HC'ing experience. I've got my fingers & toes crossed:D

Best of luck to Coach Whiz. Where ever he ends up will become my second favorite team.

I know we can do worse and I have seen this organization do so. Now if we come out of this with Lovie Smith as head coach and Norv Turner as the offensive coordinator, I will be ok. But, personally, I doubt that happens and believe we will wind up with the dregs.
