Different eras though plus mostof his career Pittsburgh had a run game and was really good so he got fewer shots.

Swann was amazing, most "graceful" Wr I've ever seen. I always thought Stallworth was overrated myself.

Yes, but Swann being in the HOF and Art Monk not is a travesty. Monk's numbers are massive compared to Swann's and he won a couple of Super Bowls too.

Dan Hampton and Swann getting into the HOF really lowered my opinion of the voting process.

Mine too AJ. I still scratch my head as to what really got Hampton into the HoF but it seems that the HoF is really just the HoVGP (Hall of very Good Players) and Hampton was very good...just not HoF material IMO.

Swann...eh, that one seems to make a little more sense to me than Hampton.

Yeah, Swann makes more sense than Hampton. He has maybe the two most replayed catches in the history of football.

Monk should be there, I agree. There's no question Swann got in largely because he was a great player on a great team. I'm just saying his numbers were low in part because of the team he played on. It wasn't until the 6th year of Swann's career that Bradshaw threw even 400 passes in a season, and that was only twice in Bradshaw's career. The Cards have thrown over 500 passes every year of Anquan's career, 670 last year !

So he's had a lot more chances, we threw the ball twice as much last year as some of those Steeler teams Swann played on.

I wonder who Denny considers his #1 WR.

I think it has to be Q.

Really? Not the long time family friend that he drafted #3 overall and forced the ball to in the redzone his entire rookie season? Really?

I was just kidding. I am pretty certain I know exactly who Denny considers his #1 WR.

You're pretty certain you know exactly?

You aren't really sure are you?

Neither am I.

I bet Green has never spent one second considering who's his number 1 WR. I think we fans are far more interested in those types of semantics.

That's true. He knows who his flanker and split wides are, and that's what really matters to him. It'll be interesting to see who Matt considers his #1 WR once Fitz comes back, though. He'll be the one whose number Matt is calling on third down.

But I hope that, like with Tom Brady, his favorite receiver is the open one.

I think that it will be. I have only seen Matt try and force a few throws out there. He is rarely throwing into double coverage, or trying to create something that is not there. Granted, most of our WR's have been in single coverage while they are stacking the box.

I hope thats true. After all, DG has a job to do rather than waste hours contemplating, arguing these kinds of things. We on the other hand... :wink2:

It certainly is nice to be able to discuss this. BUt the only reason Fitz would ever pass Boldin would be because he is 23 and has 3 years of Youth on Boldin.
Well he is nearly equal already and with 3 extra years to learn and develop I can see him being better soon, not when Boldin is old and about to retire.

Where's the love for BJ?

Seriously, though, my vote is for Q, I just love the way he fights for yards after the catch and, well, I have adopted his "I'm a grown ass man" quote and use it at work regularly!

NICE! I like that sound of that!

The truth of it is we have yet to see what Matt can do with Fitzgerald in the game. Fitz has been hurt since early in the KC game.

It is scary to think about that. I say if we had Fitzgerald Monday night we win the game.

Who will have a better career? I'm of the opinion that Boldin (like Bo Jackson) is a freak, but (like Bo Jackson) he'll continue to destroy opponents (and himself) until that one huge injury prematurely ends his career. I see Fitz being (a-la Jerry Rice) a top level performer for many, many years. I hope I'm wrong about Boldin but that dude takes wayyy too much abuse to stay along for more than 3-4 more seasons. In that regard, I'd probably choose Fitzgerald if I were building a franchise. But, heck, we've got both. That's like asking me which one of my kids do I want to take to the park. I NEED BOTH OF THEM!!!!!
