Hightower is like Chester Taylor, a nice player but you don't build your running game around him. We still, after 2 years, don't if Wells can be a feature back. He looked the part in the 2nd half of last year and did wrest the starting job this year from TH but then had that reaction to the shot in his knee and was set back 3 weeks.
I've never been a fan of running back by committee. Let one guy be the horse and ride him. Most time RBBC doesn't work anyway. It is in KC this year but most the time it's one feature guy and a guy to spell him. I think the Cards have those roles reversed but Beanie's knee has been a major factor in that this year.
I put this on Beanie too. He needs to come in next year with the attitude that he want the ball a 20+ times a games and let Whiz know. This sounds stupid but I think part of his problem is that he's being too nice a guy and buddies with TH. Go out and take his job. Wells clearly has more talent, he just needs the edge to go with it. He runs hard but it's not college anymore.He needs to treat it like a job.

I don't believe that's the case. THT is the better back for the spread offense, because who cares if you fall down behind the LOS on 3/4 of his runs (and he was) because that other quarter where you run for 8-15 yards is going to keep the idea of a run in the opposing defenses' minds.
But if you're going to protect your QB and chew clock and try and finally score a meaningful touchdown (how long has it been? Minnesota? Tampa?), then you have to go with Beanie Wells. Beanie is going to give you 2nd and 7, 3rd and 4. One of the reasons we give up on the run is that Hightower's go-nowhere runs leave us in clear passing situations.
The big runs are nice, but the big runs have to complement consistent yardage; they can't substitute for it. Not when you're starting Derek Anderson, Max Hall, and John Skelton.
Not to mention that this is just the situation where Hightower fumbles four times in three games and loses two of them.

Wells has 3 carries because when you are 3-9 you don't care about player's feelings. You do what ever it takes to win the game.
Hightower was ripping off chunks of yardage. It is ridiculous to think that Wells should have been in there instead.
The only way Wells should have had more carries is if we ran the ball more, but the Kebler elf, and Derek "9-23" Anderson can't extend a drive to save their life.
Seriously, I don't give a DAMN about CHRIS Wells' touches, or feelings. I want a win. I want the best player in the game.

Then you should want Beanine in the game Rugby! Your not paying attention if you think TH kept our offense moving. When you rip off a good run here and there but then go no where for the next 6 or 7 those kill this offense as we can't pick up a thrid and long to save our lives. Its all on Whiz and his terrible playcalling and ridiculous personel decisions. Wells will probably be out of here to because he is not a "Whiz" guy and its a damn shame this team will suffer because of a HC who seems to not know the right players that need to be on the field at the right times... he really is clueless!
Unless I'm mistaken Wells is ABSOLUTELY a Whiz guy. Whiz drafted him for christ sake!

He is NOT a whiz guy because he has spoken out about the ridiculous decisions and performance of the team the mighty whiz puts on the field. As well as calling out the terrible playcalling. So right now he is most definitely NOT a whiz guy as evidence by 3 freaking carries!
Who cares how many carries he had? The Titanic was sinking no matter where they put the deck chairs.

Unless someone touches his lower leg then he'll fall down.
I love Beanie's talent but he has had multiple chances to say this job is mine to keep and everytime, he's failed to do so.
I don't know why they went back to Timmy now, maybe the fumble by Beanie last week, but he has nobody to blame but himself. He is more talented than Tim but he hasn't outplayed him, and that's on him.
He needs to bust his butt this offseason and get better.
Interesting play in the game yesterday where two Rams defenders were coming unblocked and Jason Wright blocked the outside guy and the inside guy makes the sack on Skelton.
I saw Captain Seinlein do the exact same thing, but Seinlein blocked no one.
Neither did Lutui on that play. But then neither of them had anyone to block.
In a perfect world Faneca would have let Sendlein block the inside guy #55 and AF blocked out on #43. But then Levi missed his block and so Skelton probably would have been sacked anyway.

the unblocked guy, #43, came through the gap between Faneca and Levi Brown. With Faneca blocking down on #55 who was coming in the gap between he and Lyle there was no way Sendlein could have gotten to #43 unless he could fly.
The guy in front of Sendlein at the snap didn't even rush.
You might be mixing up Faneca with Sendlein on that play.
We are thinking of different plays.
