Does it just come down to Arians being stubborn?

5' 9" 190 lbs- BA aint stoopid- except he is addicted to passing and reluctant to run more- there goes a run for TD - just need to earn play action -

Again THT went to crap after Whiz gave him Edges run down carries. Ellington is better in this role- and as a back up- 300 carries would ruin him long term.

8 carries in the first half- is almost as much both BA and Whiz has done in a game before- they both need kicked in the nuts- Try to appreciate the punishment Mendy takes on run downs- it helps Ellington and the pass game every game.

The Jags are all over him so far today. 0 yards on 6 carries in the first half.

Jags played great run D last week too against Tennessee but their secondary has 3 rooks starting so Palmer should have a huge day which will prompt multiple threads about how he and the line have ironed out their issues.

(Feel free to insert commas and periods up there, I was too lazy)

Didn't Ellington have like 8 carries & 1 yard today? HOF material there ;)

I'm not a big Mendy supporter, but I'm not sure Ellington can tote the rock that often given his size. At 6-4 I'm pretty sure BA isn't going to change what he's doing anytime soon.

Dukes got skills but at least today showed he isn't a bell cow RB. Great change of pace back and explosive weapon.

Sproles got dinged up against the 9ers. Can't run these type of players into the ground.

do you own ears?

never said that - ever - said you have to run it more to win - we are last in rushing attempts over the last 6 years- even with little to no production like today- you can't let a NFl defensesplay you one dimensionally!

We are still about 2 passes to every 1 run- against the last place NFL run defense. weak to say the least.

What? Sorry I couldn't hear you with my ears either because we're on a message board. I'm not sure if I own them either, do I actually own my ears or do they just belong to me? SO many questions.

Back on topic, they didn't count as "fumbles" but it's worth noting IMO that Mendenhall put the ball on the ground 3 more times today. He got away with them because he was down, but the guy is still putting the ball on the ground on a regular basis in additon to sucking.

hair

Did ellington get his dread locks pulled out on that one play? I seen a handful of locks in a Jaguar player's hand and he tossed them on the ground?

You know kind of like does he own his hair? or do they belong to the Jaguars defense? SO Many answers.

My point is I never said we shouldn't pass , ever- just 2 to 1 pass over run makes us an inconsistent feast or famine offense, turnover prone, tires th defense out. Like any team- especially NFL with a short active roster each game.

Balance has always been important in play calling.

Think of it this way thesmel...

Today our running game was dog turd.

Today our passing game was chocolate cake.

Would you really want equal amounts of each on your plate?

Ellington got his hair returned to him, in a bag, after the game. Plans to sew it back in.

Figured out why BA won't name him a starter. Poor decision making!

The ASFN jinx hard at work. Posts all week about how good Ellington is and how he should start and/or play more and he has 10 touches for 13 yards today. :D

The run blocking was atrocious and the play calling for runs was just as bad. We keep running up the middle and there is nothing there because our guards and center apparently can't block for runs.

It doesn't help the TE's can't block a dead man. Every game is differant, today the passing game had to win this game.

Arians is worried about Ellington wearing down this year and shortening his career. Arians will eventually learn you can't really protect RBs and have to get production while you can.

He said that is what happened to Willie Parker and he was out of the league in 5 years. He said that he doesn't want a repeat of that.
