They are both freaking awesome.... I got my X a couple of days ago from work. (Came with my Promotion).

The X is a blast to use. Especially if you have some HD quality movies or shows on your card. Dark Knight looks awesome.

And you can get an HDMI cabe for it from Amazon I think. Don't by the store one. It's $25 bucks for 3 feet I think.

Let me just say this now....

I don't know how big the launch will be since we never market this stuff correctly..... But the Incredible is something to behold.

Demo's are now in stores. And if you are fine with an all touch screen phone.... This is (by far) the best phone I have ever seen.

One drawback.... It comes with 8GB onboard memory but no MicroSD card. You will have to buy one if you want your contacts transferred. Small price though.

Simply amazing.
I switched From the iPhone to the Incredible in June because I couldn't wait to get to Verizon. I got to tell you that the Incredible leaves a lot to be desired. Between the Incredible and the iPhone I'd pick the iPhone 100% of the time. The Incredible is fast, that's about it. The task killer is annoying and the apps start right back up after using the task killer anyway. It automatically starts programs I don't want or need like Skype and I have no way to get rid of them. The battery life is atrocious(I have to have a charger with me at all times) which is made worse by the aforementioned apps starting up. The apps are nowhere near as good as the app store on the iPhone either. I just hope Apple and Verizon can come to an agreement so I can get the iPhone on Verizons network. I got 16 months to go before I can get rid of the Incredible and I can't wait.

Verizon is pretty overpriced. The data package is a bit ridiculous; if I were to get both my wife and I smart phones, we'd pay nearly $160 month for 700 minutes and text. Our contract is up in April, so I'm hoping by then consumers outrage will have driven prices down. If not, we'll probably switch to a pay as you go type plan.

They bank on it being Unlimited. Unlike the new AT&T data plans.

However.... The CEO has already stated that tiered data pricing will come in the near future. Maybe as LTE launches.

LTE is launching soon as well..... And when it does.... The revolution begins.

AT&T/Sprint/& T Mobile's Ceiling for 4G will be Verizon's floor. I saw with my own eyes a 15MB file downloaded to an LTE mifi device in 3 seconds. While also streaming ESPN news flawlessly.

It will be a leapfrog in internet speeds just like Fios was for home internet.

Anyone notice the new data plans?

Keeping unlimited seems very smart to me.

Still overpriced ;)

It reminds me of when the internet first came out and you were paying $50 bucks a month for dial up. Sooner or later, the data packages will have to come down.

I just can't do it, espcially on phones that come with WiFi and I'm able to get the WiFi most places I go.

$15? Wow.

I will say this with as much grey area as as possible.... Sales have spiked. lol

also, $35 for 3GB on an iPad or Mifi is sick.

You're not going to be able to do much with the $15 dollar data plan before you exceed the 150mb cap running all those apps.

I wouldn't mind paying that occasionally if I could opt out and opt in when I needed it. However, living in an area where I can pick up WiFi easily, and since most of today's phones are built with WiFi, the data plan is just another unnecessary added expense. It's too bad consumers can't choose when to pay and when not to pay for the data plans.

1. For blackberries, the $15 plan is a big deal. They use much less data overall. Plus, it creates an introductory price for people who are somewhat interested in the cool phones but do not want or have the time to spare to play around with their phones all day long.

2. Just so you know.... You can opt out and in as you wish (From $15 to $30 and back). I wouldn't recommend mid month changes, but changing the feature is no problem.

3. As you know, the apps update, the widgets update, your email updates, etc.... The risk of forgetting is too great at $1.99 per MB. No way they remove data plans completely.

IMO - Quit being cheap. It's worth it.

Sorry.... Had to say it. :D

Stop overpricing consumers.....had to say it ;)

A $15 dollar plan on an Android phone isn't going to let you do much.

Opting in and out of the $15 and $30 plan is fine, but what about opting out and in when you don't need data at all?

Phones have built in WiFi for a reason, which means the data plans are just another way for phone companies to suck more cash out of its customers. If I have access to WiFi pretty much everywhere I go, why should I be forced to pay an extra $360 or $720 a year for a service I don't need for my wife and I?

Of course, if companies lowered their text and voice plans, I wouldn't have a problem with the data prices. However, $130 a month for a plan with limited data is overpriced.

You obviously don't know the people I know who are constantly using their Blackberries and use a ton of data.

Dude.... I'm the cell phone company. I am in the top 1% of usage of usage on my blackberry, and am very aware of how crazy some people are. What I am talking about is the 99%. The people who aren't nuts. In fact, the people who are nuts usually have an iPhone or Droid for that exact reason.

http://blogs.blackberry.com/2010/06/new-att-price-plans-and-blackberry-data-efficiency/

Yesterday, AT&T announced two new consumer pricing plans for smartphone customers based on wireless data usage – $15/month for 200MB and $25/month for 2GB. RIM is excited by AT&T’s announcement since the majority of the market is still using a traditional cell phone and RIM believes the $15 price point will help convince many more consumers to make the switch to a smartphone. RIM also expects these pricing plans to translate to significant savings for many of our existing customers due to the industry-leading efficiency of the BlackBerry platform. Based on recent analyst estimates of wireless data usage, most consumers using BlackBerry Internet Service on the AT&T network will now qualify to use the $15/month data plan.

Or even more damning for your point.......

http://www.macrumors.com/2010/02/12/average-iphone-consumer-data-usage-pegged-at-five-times-that-of-blackberry/

Consumer Reports announced this week the results of a study it commissioned assessing the monthly data usage for customers of Apple's iPhone and other smartphones. The data, obtained from over 1,000 consumer accounts linked to online bill analysis firm Validas, reveals that iPhone users consume an average of 273 MB of data per month, five times that of BlackBerry users and nearly twice that of users of other smartphones.
On average, iPhone users consume 273 MBs of data per month. That compares with 54 MBs for consumer users of Blackberrys and 150 MBs for consumers who use other brands of smart phones, the Validas study found.

Blackberries are so awesome because of how they control their products (sorta like mac OS's). Light OS's, Light data signatures, Light network usage.

Not disputing that Apple users use more data. I am saying that every person I know that owns one uses the data more then a casual user. It might not compare to Iphone overall. Though I bet those #'s don't include Corporate usage. So that sampling is not a very good indication of overall data usage. However, I couldn't tell if that was the case in that sampling??

Blackberry is hoping that the new data plan will appeal to more casual users therefore tapping more into the casual user market. It's predominantly used by business users more then anything. My company and business users alike use the Blackberry for everyday business use. We couldn't survive without heavy data usage.

What I am saying is the $15 dollar data plan isn't the big deal your making it out to be. You have to believe that Blackberry will all of the sudden make huge inroads to the average cell phone user market.

We had RIM talk to us at our technology conference. They even brought up if not for the business market Blackberry wouldn't exist.

Corporate users must pay $45 and get unlimited. So the $15 point is moot.

Is AT&T not that way?

I get your drift though about $15. It aint for us (me and you).

It is inviting though to families who want multiple devices. Could lead to more smartphone adoption.

That is basically my point. The only people that the $15 is going to appeal to is the casual user. The casual user is not the Blackberry's demographic. Therefore, as of right now it's not a game changer. Now if they shoud see a fundamental shift in that demographic that would be different.

They aren't bad.... In fact, knowing that they have only the 4th best network in the nation have captured the value customer the best.

In short.... If the coverage they supply is good for you, there really isn't a cheaper option.

If safety and security are a requirement. And you aren't mesmerized by the shiny lights of unlimited this and unlimited that, then AT&T or Big Red are better.

But honestly, I think you will be surprised by some upcoming changes at VZW. Stay tuned.

Ouch dude.... Good luck. lol

I'd rather have Sprint.

It might be quick for you though..... VZW is doing a ton of 4G/LTE stuff that might impress your company.

Or they just might have a quick case of buyers remorse set in about a week after they move.
