Sources: #AZCardinals coach Steve Wilks has told his staff during a meeting that he will not be the coach going forward. He has not yet heard it official from owner Michael Bidwill. But that is what he has told his staff.

Too bad. He was a nice guy not given a fair shot because the team was just plain awful....though he was overmatched many a time. I wish him all the best.

No, no, no, he got MORE than a fair shot. He sucked just as bad as the team, which sucked a lot because of him and his decisions.

I have to agree Stout, I don't understand the "he seemed like nice guy" posts, it doesn't matter if he was nice or not he was not ready to be a HC , no direction or plan, outcoached, no halftime adjustments. And before anyone feels too sorry for him he's still gonna paid millions lol

He was in over his head. Both his coordinators sucked...albeit the second OC was a tad better. Time to get a staff who can coach....and a draft with OLs and WRs and although most on here disagree...a game changing Bosa.

Well..... He did say that hiring him was the best decision Bidwill made.

And he did say that our O-Line was the strength of our team.

And he did say he brought in people who were teachers..... With the right DNA.

and for that...... You sir.... Are chopped.

Who would have thought that bricks don’t make a good foundation?

Wilks was a guy clearly in over his head, might be a cool boss as far as the players were concerned and they probably got to know him as a person they liked but this was not the job for him. Time for him to go back to being a coordinator or position coach on Rivera's staff...or maybe his style is more suitable for the college game. I am just glad he wasn't given another year here to put this franchise further behind.

I wish him well. He is a class act that wasn't ready to be a head coach.

The fiasco at the end of the first half epitomized his lack of game management skills. I was screaming at the TV to kick
the field goal on third down with 11 seconds left. Instead he allows his rookie QB to screw it up. :bang:

If Wilks is telling his staff he is being fired but hasn’t spoken to Michael Bidwill he either was told latelast night or early this morning by Steve Keim that he was being dismissed. Wilks said after the game he had yet to speak to either Bidwill or Keim about his status

This may not have been a playoff-caliber roster, but the talent on it is far better than 3-13. Wilks contributed nothing to this team.
