Will the game be played with air quality dropping by the hour at the stadium?

Supposed to get better but it's not great. The forecasts are pretty unreliable it's twice as bad today as the forecast. Saturday they're forecasting over 200, if it's true you can't play. But Sunday 127 playable but you have to monitor people with health issues.

It's nuts though we've had smoke here before from fires but the last 2 days are much worse than I remember

For a second straight day, 49ers' WR Deebo Samuel did not practice due to a foot injury. Rookie WR Brandon Aiyuk went from not participating Wednesday due to a hamstring injury to being a limited participant today.

you live here right?

it's horrible right now. They are saying the winds are keeping the smoke and ash up higher but if/when those die down it will be awful

I'm hopeful it clears by Sunday, right now it's stunning outside it's so dark middle of the day.

Santa Clara says 81 right now, this morning I heard a weather forecaster say if the game was today it might get cancelled because it's an extreme spare the air day. They can't really model this stuff but they are expecting it to clear more by the weekend, I sure hope so this is really bad.

This is a pic of the roof of my car. I went through a car wash saturday, and I wiped it off this morning when I got to work, so this is from 7 hours of being parked

Simmons is currently listed as a backup on the Depth Chart that the Cardinals released today:

I’ve heard nothing but positives from camp. However, if Simmons doesn’t play the vast majority of the snaps, except short yardage, you have to question taking him number one. Players, except QBs, taken that highly should be immediate starters.

He was the right pick. Even if he doesn’t pan out (which I doubt)

Right now at 2am in San Fran the air quality is rated at 219. Anything over 200 and the game can't go ahead. I don't even think the Niners are allowed to practice today if it's over 200. Outside anyway.

Best cross our fingers. A bit of good news is that the EPA service that monitors it was it should get better tomorrow in their forecast.

Let's hope so.

I hope so but their models have been wrong every day. And that's not a rip on them it's just that this is so unusual there isn't really an accurate way to model it.

The resource that the NFL uses for game time checks has Santa Clara (where Levi’s Stadium is located) at 155 currently. Down from about 220 last night FWIW. Fingers crossed.

California needs more biomass power plants to burn wood collected by Forest Service during thinning operations. puts a tiny dent in their power deficiencies but helps big time with fire season.

Lesson learned - Accept Niner injury reports with double-grain of salt.

Today’s air quality is worse than it has been either of past two days even though sky isn’t as ominous. It’s currently 169 in nearby Mountain View and in the same range in Santa Clara. The threshold is 200 to cancel outdoor football activities. #49ers will continue to monitor.

Air quality is awful. I'm in SoCal and from all of the fires, I can't go outside without my lungs feeling like they're on fire.
