thats 7 days of playing time. not seven days on a calendar.

correct... thus the /played explanation.... :D average to 60 is about 29 days... I should hit it in 10 to 11 with the Hunter... A real fast time is 18 to 22

That is flying... My main and primary is the priest, it took me 26 days and since it was my first it was all I was doing and my goal was to get to 60... The priest was pretty hard...

If you are just starting out, or want a second high level toon, you need to try the hunters... I made one as my alt on my main server and have leveled him to 54 in 7 days (time played when entering "/played" on the chat line)

After they changed the hunter via the patch, it has become a solo'ing monster...

Yeah, my hunter was very easy to level. Secondary only to my rogue. Rogue is only easy because damage is insane (hunters dish out their fair share) and being able to stealth through gathering quests was very helpful. Vanish as a rogue is nice, but feign death for hunters is also very good. That said, my mage has been a pain to level. He is up to 57 now and I dread playing him. Could be because he is soft and can be killed very quickly. PVP servers... fun.

Interesting set of circumstances.

My first thought that set off the BS alarm is this, I don't think your weapon skills can be increased fighting a low level opponent like that.

Second is why would you be watching TV and playing this "boring" game fighting low level characters anyway?

My thoughts, he was farming for drops and trying to make gold for cash sales. This seems to be taking on a larger more brazen aspect of the game since I started.

.

you can gain weapon skills fighting any level... say you are a 50 and you have 1/200 skills in daggers, never used.... go wack on a 20 and it will skill you up pretty fast...

Addicting and having affects on the real world…

This game is sickly addicting and I can see that, even though I have not let it affect my real life, other than leaving work a tad early on certain days to make sure I am online in time for scheduled raids. One of the guys that works for me and my company in an outlying location has had some attendance problems, he misses about 2 days a month and is late very often. At the end of one of our disciplinary meetings the World of Warcraft was brought up and we discussed realms (he was on the same on as I was), characters, classes, professions and levels. After this some evenings he would join up with pick up groups I was in and I really thought that having something in common with one of the company’s managers may actually help him produce better at work and maybe keep him a happy and productive employee.

One particular day he had a court appointment to keep so his immediate supervisor let him take a half-day and make his 8 a.m. appointment. At 10 he called in and said he was hung up and probably would not be able to get out until noon. His boss called me and I called him, he said he was done but that he still had to go home, change and it may not be worth it for him to come in at all… (with his job there is no one to cover him and anything he misses would need to be completed the following day)… I told him that he even if he did not get out until noon, he still needed to get in to work and do everything he could, and that he could even stay later to make up the time…

I started to think and loaded WOW on my work computer, it took just under an hour to load and patch… 11:15 and I create a new character and log in… I add his characters name into my friends list and “pop” user is online… Pull up his name in the who panel and he is in Molten Core… Well that is about a 3 to 4 hour raid so I run a Molten Core search in the “who” window and see about 38 people in there. I recognize a few names and whisper one and tell them who I am (my main character) and ask how long they have been in and if this guy was with them from the start… He (or she – you never know) tells me that they started a few minutes after 8 and that the guy who is supposed to either be at court or work has been there from the beginning…

The next day I talked to him, told him that I knew he was on WOW and that he needs to get his butt to work instead of playing during the day. He just laughed… The company I work for has a real hard time letting people go because they feel they have a lot of time, energy, money and resources involved in each employee and that they would much rather fix the problem with the employee than to start over…

He still works here today but he has been demoted to yard guy and has taken a cut in pay. My company feels that perhaps he can prove himself in the lesser position and work his way up again…

My feeling is this guy will be gone soon. Another life taken over by WOW.

Our guild has started doing a lottery thingy. Anyone that wants to participate sends 1g to the guild leader. For every 1g you send, you are entered into a drawing. At a specified time, the leader does a roll of all the names entered and the winner gets 80% of the gold sent in. The other 20% goes to our guild bank character to be used to help guildies when needed (buy mounts, gear, etc). Well, I've been out of town for a week so I haven't logged on since being home yet, and I just skimmed the thread in our guild forums, but I think I won this first one! If I'm correct, 36g should be coming my way!!! WOO HOO!!!!!!!! Just had to share. :D

That is kind of cool... I have been a lvl 60 with one charater for a long time and almost a 60 with the other, epic mount on one and tons of extra cash with him to give the second... I have bought 4 or 5 mounts for guild members and still have plenty of money... I think the need for it goes away at some point, at least I don't ever really need it... I was never one for purchases on the Auction house though, only really sell on there...

The guild I am in does not recruit or do anything fun like that... they are just about farming all the end instances... Still fun though... ;)

I know there will come a day when 36g won't really be anything at all. But until then, I'll be a happy camper with an extra 36g to my name! I currently only have 20g.

I like our guild a lot. They aren't pushy with rules of how you "have" to participate in raids and such. I know of many guilds that are very demanding. We have a Horde and an Alliance side to our guild. Very friendly, family oriented group of people. Reminds me a lot of how ASFN has felt to me over time. :)

Anyhow, I look forward to the day when I have more gold than I know what to do with.
