All ZLeinart has to do is be average and not make turnovers and hope the defense remembers what they are on the field for.Leinart has a 7 and 10 record as a starter and in 2 of those losses the defense went bellyup and played like wussies to lose the games.Leinart just needs to be solid IMO.With a bigger reliance on the running game and a good defense Cards should be okay.

Did you watch the end of last year? If this team is going to rely on defense to win we are in for one hell of a long year and you could argue our defense is worse then last year. Leinart needs to get this team in the endzone and thats what im most scared about because thats what he showed a lack of against Tenn. Im very scared about this year if we are relying on a not too deep many question mark defense.

Yahoo sports doesn't knows Jack...!!! Matt will be fine. And BS to the people in the Cardinal Administration are saying bad things about Matt.

I am calling your bluff. Name them or keep your insecurities to yourselves.

The defense at the end of last year was also good enough to force 11 turnovers in their last 5 games. Two of those allowed the Cards to build a 31-10 lead over GB. I'm still more concerned with how the Cards played with a big lead every time rather than how they looked in those 4 quarters v GB and NO in the post season.

Of course I share your concern about the apparent lack of depth on D as well as question marks at 3 key positions. SILB, WILB, and Nickel DB.

Conversley, I can point to 4 games where Matt put this team in a position to win and then the defense failed to make the stop with under 3 minutes left in the game.

KC and CHI in his rookie year. At SF in 2008 and TEN this past season. I think looking at his 7-10 record at face value is highly inaccurate. Those were not Matt's failings. Those were the defenses.

I think looking at Matt's play aginst TEN you have to consider the play calling (which was conservative in the first half). Additionally, you also have to consider the fact that he had no preperation for that game. We will see how being the #1 QB will affect Matt's performance.
